July and August are peak season, so campground reservations fill quickly on weekends and holidays. May, June, and September are strong shoulder-season choices for RV travelers looking for milder temperatures, easier site availability, and active tide pools. Really great RV that was easy to drive and worked really well. Lots of space with the pop out, AC blows cold and the heating is warm. Was very comfortable the whole time. Steve the host is great and took the time to show me how everything worked in detail and had me completely comfortable to go on my trip. Can’t recommend this rental enough. Thank you.

We had such a great weekend camping in the Memory Maker! Danielle has thought of everything when it comes to making life easy while you are “roughing it”. We felt cozy and comfortable sleeping as a family of 5. It was easy to pull behind our Tahoe as well. Great experience all around, we already have our next trip booked!

Danielle is a great host! The trailer was wonderfully laid out and perfect for a family of four. It was very clean and everything worked perfectly! Our family had a great time and would definitely rent from Danielle again!

How to get to Penrose Point State Park

The park sits on the Key Peninsula near Lakebay, about 20 miles (roughly 40 minutes) from Gig Harbor and about 25 miles (about an hour) from Tacoma via State Route 302 and the Key Peninsula Highway. From Seattle, plan on roughly 70 miles and 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The access roads are rural, two-lane, and winding with some tight turns and low-hanging branches, so larger RVs should drive slowly and watch overhead clearance; there are no mountain passes or tunnels on the route. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), about 45 miles northeast.
