Peter Lougheed Provincial Park is 135 kilometres (85 miles) west of Calgary, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes by car via Highway 1 and Highway 40 through Kananaskis Country. The nearby town of Canmore is 61 kilometres (38 miles) away, roughly 1 hour of driving, and offers RV-friendly services and accommodations. Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the nearest major air hub, located 140 kilometres away with an approximate 1 hour and 45 minute drive to the park. Note that Highway 40 is closed from December 1 through June 14 south of the winter gate due to avalanche danger and snow conditions.
