Best time to visit Stephens State Park

Late May through early October is the prime window for RV travel, when the campground is open and daytime temperatures are comfortable for hiking and paddling. September and early October offer cooler nights, lighter crowds, and strong fall color along the Musconetcong valley. Spring shoulder weeks bring excellent trout fishing but muddy trails and cool nights, so pack for temperatures that can still dip near freezing. Summer weekends fill quickly, so reserve sites well in advance.

I accept the charges as followed. However I do not accept charge for 4 days. I only had the vehicle for 3 days. I'd like to dispute the 4th day charged for 250.00

How to get to Stephens State Park

The park sits just outside Hackettstown, New Jersey, about 55 miles (roughly 1 hour 15 minutes) west of New York City and 75 miles (about 1 hour 45 minutes) north of Philadelphia via I-78 and Route 46. Most RVers approach via I-80 to exit 26, then follow local roads south into Hackettstown; the final approach on Willow Grove Street is a narrow, tree-lined two-lane road with tight turns near the park entrance. There are no mountain passes or tunnels, but low clearances and weight-posted bridges on older county roads mean drivers of larger Class A and fifth-wheel rigs should route carefully. Newark Liberty International Airport, about 50 miles east, is the most convenient fly-and-rent option.
