The most comfortable months for RV camping are November through April, when humidity drops, bugs ease, and daytime highs sit in the 60s to low 80s Fahrenheit. Winter is peak season with snowbirds filling riverside sites, so reservations should be made well in advance. Spring shoulder months offer warm paddling weather and fewer crowds. Summer brings heat, high humidity, mosquitoes, and afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November.

The Tomoka River offers flatwater paddling through mangrove channels and salt marsh where manatees and dolphins are often seen. Rental canoes and kayaks are available at the park concession, and the launch is a short walk from the campground.
The on-site museum interprets the park's Timucuan heritage, colonial plantation era, and the artwork of muralist Fred Dana Marsh. It sits near the end of the park road with RV-accessible parking nearby.
Anglers target redfish, snook, flounder, and sea trout from the shoreline, the park's fishing pier, or small boats launched on site. A Florida saltwater fishing license is required for most species.
The park is a prime stop for coastal birding, with ospreys, herons, egrets, roseate spoonbills, and wood storks common in the marshes. Early mornings along the river trail offer the best sightings.
A short interpretive loop leads through dense live-oak hammock draped in Spanish moss, highlighting coastal hardwood ecology. The trail is flat, shaded, and suitable for most fitness levels.
Shaded picnic areas overlook the confluence of the Tomoka and Halifax rivers, with tables, grills, and restrooms nearby. It is a popular spot for sunset views from the park.
The Atlantic beaches at Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach are roughly a 10 to 15 minute drive from the campground. Tow-vehicle or car travel is recommended rather than moving the RV for a beach day.
It was a good expirience.

Tomoka State Park, FL, United States
The park sits about 3 miles north of Ormond Beach via North Beach Street, roughly 10 miles from Daytona Beach and about 90 minutes (90 miles) from Orlando via I-4 and I-95. From I-95 exit 273, RV drivers follow surface streets east through residential neighborhoods; North Beach Street is a narrow, two-lane road with low-hanging tree canopy in places, so larger rigs should drive slowly and watch for overhead limbs. There are no mountain passes or tunnels on approach. Daytona Beach International Airport is the closest fly-and-rent option, with Orlando International roughly 85 miles southwest.
