Campgrounds and RV parks near Bulkley-Nechako G, BC

Electoral Area G sits in the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako in north-central British Columbia, taking in the country around Burns Lake, Francois Lake, and the Lakes District south of Highway 16. It is lake-and-forest terrain, well suited to RV travellers who want a quiet base with fishing, paddling, and easy access to the Yellowhead corridor. Camping options mix BC Parks provincial campgrounds with private lakeside resorts. Red Bluff Provincial Park is named for the iron-stained cliffs that plunge almost perpendicularly into the lake, and boaters can explore the extensive shoreline of Babine Lake, the longest natural freshwater lake in British Columbia. Colleymount Noralee Resort and Cozy Cottages and RV at Round Lake Resort offer private-sector alternatives on smaller lakes in the area. RV travellers heading further west along Highway 16 toward Smithers will find Tyhee Lake Provincial Park and Smithers Riverside Municipal Campground and RV Park, both within easy day-trip range of the electoral area.

Provincial park sites are booked through the BC Parks reservation system at camping.bcparks.ca or by phone at 1-800-689-9025. As of 2026, BC Parks uses a three month rolling window for campground reservations, which means arrival dates can only be booked within the three month window. Not all sites are reservable. At Tyhee Lake, 20 campsites are reservable while 39 campsites are available on a first-come first-served basis only. Red Bluff holds a similar split. Arrive early on Fridays for a chance at unreserved sites. Private resorts including Cozy Cottages and RV at Round Lake Resort and Colleymount Noralee Resort are booked directly with the operator. Smithers Riverside Municipal Campground and RV Park is run by the town and takes bookings through its own system.
