Campgrounds and RV parks near Okanagan-Similkameen H, BC

The Okanagan-Similkameen H area sits in southern British Columbia's Similkameen Valley, centred on the town of Princeton at the junction of the Tulameen and Similkameen Rivers. RV travellers use it as a base for provincial park camping, river recreation, and access to lakes stocked with rainbow trout. Princeton lies roughly 45 minutes east of E.C. Manning Provincial Park on Highway 3 and connects north to Merritt via Highway 5A. Campground options range from riverside municipal sites in town to remote provincial park campgrounds. Bromley Rock Provincial Park is located 21 km east of Princeton on Highway 3, and Otter Lake Provincial Park is located 33 km northwest of Princeton off Hwy 5A toward Coalmont and Tulameen. Allison Lake Park is located 28 km north of Princeton, along Highway 5A. Princeton Municipal RV Park sits along the Similkameen River just off Highway 3, and Princeton Golf and RV Park is located next to the Princeton Golf Club. Sites in the area are generally smaller and more rustic than in the central Okanagan, with fewer full-hookup options and quieter shoulder seasons.

Provincial park campsites at Bromley Rock and Otter Lake are booked through the BC Parks reservation system at bcparks.ca/reservations. BC Parks has changed its reservation system for campsites across the province, with reservations now required three months ahead of the scheduled date instead of four. If you want to arrive on June 1 to a BC Parks campsite, you can book your reservation starting March 1 at 7am PT. Allison Lake operates largely on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited block of sites accepting reservations during the peak summer window. Campsites that can't be reserved are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Arriving early on weekdays remains a viable backup at any of the provincial parks. Princeton Municipal RV Park and Princeton Golf and RV Park are private operators and book directly through the businesses, not through BC Parks.
