We had a wonderful experience with this camper rental! As a family of three, we had plenty of room to spare. I was able to store all of our food in the pantry and fridge with space left over, which worked perfectly for our four-day trip. Both the heater and air conditioner worked great, keeping us comfortable throughout. If you’re traveling with a toddler in a pack ’n play, it fits perfectly in one of the tent ends once you remove the mattress. Set-up and take-down were straightforward and quick, even with unpacking and repacking food and bags. Check-in and return were smooth and easy. All of the directions you need are posted inside the camper, which was super convenient. One tip: bring a few extra-thick blankets. The nights were chilly, and while the heater kept us cozy (especially with a little one), two adults alone would probably be fine with just some extra blankets. The tent end beside the bathroom doesn’t get quite as much heat due to the wall blocking airflow, but that’s more of a small observation than a drawback. Host was fantastic, very friendly, helpful, and kind during both pick-up and drop-off. We’d happily rent from them again!

We had a great time camping at New River Beach with this hybrid trailer. Easy to tow, set up, and take down. Mathew and Cheyenne were great throughout the whole rental process.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Saint Marys, NB

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Saint Marys, NB?

RV rental in Saint Marys is one of the more affordable ways to explore New Brunswick's Saint John River Valley. Expect motorhomes to average around $200 per night and travel trailers closer to $125 per night, with many hosts offering discounts on weekly and monthly bookings. For a cheap RV rental Saint Marys travelers love, book a travel trailer on weekdays in June or early September, when nightly rates dip and campgrounds at nearby Mactaquac Provincial Park have wide-open availability. Pro tip: use the price filter on RVezy and message a couple of hosts directly to ask about multi-night deals, especially if your trip falls outside the July-August peak.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Saint Marys, New Brunswick?

Good news: a regular Class 5 driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Saint Marys, NB. There is no special RV endorsement or commercial license required in New Brunswick for the motorhomes and trailers listed on RVezy. You must be at least 25 years old to book, and your ID is verified securely through the RVezy platform during checkout, so there is nothing extra to bring to pickup beyond your valid license. Visiting from outside Canada? An International Driving Permit paired with your home license keeps everything smooth at the border and at pickup. Most first-time renters tell us the paperwork side of a Saint Marys RV trip is much easier than they expected.

Is my RV rental in Saint Marys protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road in Saint Marys with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose the level of coverage that fits you best during the booking process. Whether you are heading to Mactaquac Provincial Park or doing a longer loop through the Saint John River Valley, you are backed up the entire time. Pro tip: review the coverage options carefully at checkout. Bumping up to a higher tier is usually only a few dollars per night and lowers your out-of-pocket exposure if a branch scratches the awning on a backcountry road.

What happens if I need to cancel my Saint Marys RV trip?

Life happens, and RVezy has a clear cancellation policy that applies to every booking. Cancellation terms are set by RVezy, not by individual hosts, and the amount refunded depends on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start. That means you can lock in your dates for an RV rental in Saint Marys with confidence. Pro tip: book early to secure the best motorhomes for summer weekends near Fredericton, and review the cancellation details on the RVezy checkout page so you know exactly what to expect before you confirm.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in Saint Marys, NB?

Absolutely. Pet-friendly RV rental Saint Marys options are easy to find on RVezy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching and you will see hosts who welcome four-legged co-pilots. Many owners along the Saint John River Valley travel with dogs themselves, so their RVs come ready with easy-clean floors and outdoor mats. Once you arrive, Mactaquac Provincial Park allows leashed dogs on its hiking trails, and Killarney Lake Park just outside Fredericton has off-leash zones too. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and to mention your dog's size. It keeps everything transparent and starts your trip on the right paw.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Saint Marys?

Yes, RV delivery Saint Marys is one of the most popular features on RVezy and a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drop the RV right at your campsite at Mactaquac Provincial Park, Hartt Island RV Resort, or even your driveway in the Fredericton area, then level it, hook it up, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees vary by RV type and distance, but typically run a flat fee plus a per-kilometre rate. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to instantly see hosts who offer this service. Pro tip: ask the host to include a generator and propane top-up in the delivery so you arrive to a fully ready campsite.

You can cover a lot of ground from Saint Marys, and many hosts offer generous daily kilometre allowances (some even an RV rental with unlimited mileage for trailers). From your pickup point, Mactaquac Provincial Park is just 25 km west, Saint John and the Bay of Fundy are about 110 km south, Hopewell Rocks is roughly 200 km southeast, Kouchibouguac National Park sits 200 km northeast, and Saint Andrews by-the-Sea is around 130 km southwest. Each is an easy day's drive on well-maintained two-lane highways. Pro tip: check the mileage policy on each listing before booking. If you are planning a longer RV road trip from Saint Marys, ask the host to bundle extra kilometres upfront, which is usually cheaper than paying overage rates later.

Where can I camp with my RV near Saint Marys, NB?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Saint Marys. Mactaquac Provincial Park (25 km west) has 401 sites with power and water hookups, two freshwater beaches, an 18-hole golf course, and 15+ km of trails. River Country Campground in Lower Saint Marys is a pet-friendly full-service park right on the Saint John River. Hartt Island RV Resort just outside Fredericton offers a waterpark, mini-golf, and pull-through sites. For something quieter, Mariners Point RV Campground sits on Mactaquac Lake in Upper Queensbury. Pro tip: book Mactaquac sites the moment reservations open in the spring through the NB Parks website. Riverside sites near the beach go first, especially on long weekends in July and August.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Saint Marys, NB?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Saint Marys runs from late May through mid-October. June brings green leaves and daytime highs around 20°C with very few bugs by month-end. July and August are peak summer with highs of 24-27°C, perfect for swimming at Mactaquac's freshwater beach. September is the local secret: warm days, cool nights around 8-12°C, and the Saint John River Valley turning brilliant red and gold by early October. Winters are cold (often -10 to -20°C) but a handful of hosts offer four-season units for snowshoeing trips. Pro tip: aim for the second or third week of September for fall colours, fewer crowds at Fredericton's Boyce Farmers Market, and lower nightly rates from hosts wrapping up their season.

I am a first-time RV renter. Will I know what to do?

You will be just fine, and most people renting an RV in Saint Marys for the first time are surprised how supportive the process is. Your host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, slide-outs, dump procedures, and driving tips for the local Route 8 and Trans-Canada Highway 2 corridors. Many hosts also send video tutorials before your trip and stay reachable by message the entire time. RVezy's 24/7 roadside assistance is always one tap away. Pro tip: ask your host for a quick demo of leveling and connecting at Mactaquac Provincial Park. It is one of the easiest campgrounds in New Brunswick for beginners, with wide pull-through sites and on-site staff to help if you have a question.

What if something breaks down during my Saint Marys RV trip?

Take a breath: every RVezy booking comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included with your protection plan, so help is just a phone call away anywhere in New Brunswick. Whether you have a flat tire on Route 105 near Mactaquac, a dead battery at a riverside campground, or a propane issue on the Trans-Canada heading toward Moncton, support is dispatched quickly. Your host is also a great first contact because they know the quirks of their own RV. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's contact info in your phone before you leave the driveway, and snap a photo of your generator and fuse panel locations during the walkthrough so you can describe issues clearly if you ever need help.

Can I drive my Saint Marys RV rental across the border into the US or to other provinces?

Yes, cross-border and inter-provincial road trips are popular from Saint Marys, but you'll want to confirm with your host first. Many hosts on RVezy welcome travel into Maine (the Calais border crossing is about 200 km away) or into Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge, especially for longer bookings. Just note that travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Once approved, your host will provide the vehicle registration and insurance documents you need at the border. Pro tip: a classic loop from Saint Marys is Fredericton to Hopewell Rocks to Cavendish PEI to Cape Breton and back, covering about 1,500 km over 7-10 days. Discuss the route with your host so mileage is bundled in.

What should I budget for fuel on an RV road trip from Saint Marys?

Fuel is the second-biggest cost after the rental itself, so it helps to plan. Class C motorhomes around Saint Marys average 18-22 litres per 100 km, Class B campervans run closer to 12-15 L/100 km, and a truck pulling a travel trailer averages around 18 L/100 km. Gas in New Brunswick is price-regulated weekly by the Energy and Utilities Board, and the lowest pumps in the Fredericton area are typically Costco on Wayne Squibb Boulevard and the Irving Big Stop on the Trans-Canada. A 200 km return trip to Saint John runs roughly $60-$90 in fuel for a mid-size motorhome. Pro tip: fill up in Fredericton before heading north toward Miramichi. Stations get sparser and pricier once you leave the capital region.
www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/energy_utilities_board.html

How far ahead should I book a campground near Saint Marys?

For the best campgrounds near Saint Marys, aim to reserve as early as you can: NB Parks opens its reservation system for Mactaquac Provincial Park each spring, and prime riverside and beachfront sites for July long weekends often sell out within hours. Private parks like Hartt Island RV Resort accept bookings year-round through their own websites. For mid-week stays in June or September, you can often book just a few days ahead. Pro tip: if Mactaquac is full, look at Woolastook Park or Kings Landing area campgrounds within 30 minutes of Saint Marys. They are quieter and rarely fully booked, even in peak season.
parcsnbparks.info/en/reservations

What are local driving conditions like around Saint Marys, NB?

Driving an RV around Saint Marys is refreshingly relaxed compared to most metro areas. Traffic in greater Fredericton is light, the Trans-Canada Highway 2 is divided and well-maintained, and Route 8 north toward Miramichi has wide shoulders. The main things to watch for are moose at dusk (especially on Route 8 between Fredericton and Doaktown), occasional fog along the Saint John River in spring and fall, and winter snow from December through March that can make secondary roads slippery. The Princess Margaret Bridge in Fredericton has a vertical clearance of 4.4 metres, plenty for nearly every RV. Pro tip: plan your driving for mid-morning to mid-afternoon to avoid wildlife on the road, and download offline maps because cell coverage dips north of Stanley.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Saint Marys?

Campgrounds in the Saint Marys area are well set up for RVers of every level. Mactaquac Provincial Park offers 30-amp electrical, water hookups at most sites, a centralized dump station, showers, laundry, two beaches, and a general store. River Country Campground has full 30/50-amp hookups, sewer at the site, Wi-Fi, a pool, and a playground. Hartt Island RV Resort adds a waterpark and mini-golf. For dumping and filling fresh water on the road, Mactaquac has a free dump station for registered campers, and several Irving Big Stops in the region offer dump and potable water for a small fee. Pro tip: top up fresh water before leaving Fredericton if you are heading to smaller riverside parks where potable water can be limited.

What's typically included inside a Saint Marys RV rental?

Most motorhome rental Saint Marys listings come fully equipped and trip-ready. Expect a full kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and cookware; a bathroom with toilet and shower; comfortable beds for 4-8 people depending on the size; a furnace and air conditioning; and seatbelts for all travelling passengers. Many Class C motorhomes and travel trailers in the Fredericton area also include a generator, outdoor speakers, a TV, and even Wi-Fi boosters for streaming. Linens, kitchen kits, and camp chairs are often offered as add-ons by the host. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings on RVezy if you want a faster confirmation, and read the listing's amenity list carefully so you only pay for the extras you actually need.

How does payment and the security deposit work for my RV rental in Saint Marys?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay the full rental, fees, and protection plan through RVezy at the time of booking. About 48 hours before your trip, the host places a refundable security deposit hold on your card, typically ranging from $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value. As long as the RV is returned in the same condition with the agreed mileage and fuel level, the hold is released after your trip ends. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a short walkaround video of the RV at pickup and return. It is the single best way to avoid any disputes and ensures your deposit is released quickly so you can start planning your next New Brunswick RV adventure.
