Campgrounds near Stone Mills
Stone Mills is a rural township in Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, north of Greater Napanee and roughly a half-hour drive from Kingston. The area sits in the Land O' Lakes region, a lake-and-forest belt that gives RV travellers easy reach to the Bay of Quinte, the Frontenac Arch, and the western edge of the Thousand Islands corridor.
Most RV parks that serve Stone Mills travellers are private, family-run resorts on nearby lakes. Sun Retreats Hay Bay sits on the south shore of Hay Bay on the Bay of Quinte and is a seasonal-only resort focused on full-season RV sites and cottage ownership rather than overnight bookings. Desert Lake Family Resort is a full-service campground on the south shore of Desert Lake near Hartington, with a swimming beach, boat launch, and hookups. Woodland Park and Loughborough Lake Holiday Park Campground round out the private options closer to the lakes north of Kingston.
For a more amenity-heavy stop, 1000 Islands / Kingston KOA Holiday sits just off Highway 401 north of Kingston and is the closest full-service KOA to the region.
Things to do near Stone Mills
The township itself is anchored by the Old Stone Mill in Newburgh, tied to the area's grist-milling past, and by the Hell Holes Nature Trails and Caves for hiking. Puzzle Lake Provincial Park, north of Tamworth, is a non-operating park with rock barrens, wetlands, and paddling access, but no facilities or signage.
Water activities dominate the surrounding lakes. Hay Bay and the wider Bay of Quinte are known for walleye, pike, bass, and perch fishing. Desert Lake and the lakes of the Frontenac Arch support swimming, canoeing, and small-boat use. Frontenac Provincial Park, a short drive east, offers backcountry hiking and paddling routes.
Kingston, the Thousand Islands cruises, and Prince Edward County wineries are all within an easy day trip.

Lisa and Manny were amazing to deal with . They responded quickly and were very helpful in answering any questions we had. The trailer was exactly what we needed to make our camping weekend an enjoyable one !!!!
Brent M. - Sep 2026
Lisa and Manny are wonderful hosts, explain everything in detail. Trailer tows beautifully. I had no issues with the trailer at all. I would suggest bringing a mattress topper because the Murphy bed mattress is not as thick as a regular mattress.

Ryan and Ashley are great to communicate with and flexible regarding delivery and pick up. They provided a great run through of the trailer. The trailer was perfect for our stay at Sandbanks and was fully stocked with all the necessary accessories. Would definitely rent again!

Wonderful experience booking and staying in this rental. The hosts were great at corresponding before our trip, and after we arrived they were helpful setting up and explaining the amenities. They were extremely flexible with delivery - it did not go unappreciated (especially when you're traveling with little ones). Thank you, Ryan & Ashley!!
