Campgrounds and RV parks near Vankleek Hill, ON

Vankleek Hill sits in eastern Ontario's Prescott and Russell region, roughly halfway between Ottawa and Montreal and a short drive from the Quebec border. The village is surrounded by farmland, the Ottawa River corridor, and mixed forest, giving RV travellers access to both provincial parkland and private campgrounds within a 30-minute radius. The closest large public option is Voyageur Provincial Park, which has 416 campsites, including around 150 with electrical service, a dedicated pet-free loop, and group sites. Private campgrounds in the area include L Original Campground, Cedar Shade Campground, Evergreen Camping Resort, and Camping Trans-canadien, which cater to RVs of varying lengths and typically offer seasonal and short-stay sites. Vankleek Hill itself functions as a supply and services stop for campers, with grocery stores, fuel, and a well-known craft brewery in the village. The town sits between Ottawa and Montreal, making it a practical basecamp for exploring both provinces on a single trip.

For Voyageur Provincial Park, reservations go through the Ontario Parks system. Reservations are accepted up to five months in advance of the arrival date. Ontario Parks releases reservations exactly five months in advance of the arrival date at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time, and popular summer weekends can sell out within minutes. Bookings can be made online or by calling the Ontario Parks reservation line, 1-888-ONT-PARK. If a preferred date is fully booked, cancellations are common, so camping cancellations are most common two weeks before a trip and 24 to 48 hours before departure, meaning it pays to check the system regularly. Private campgrounds such as L Original Campground, Cedar Shade Campground, Evergreen Camping Resort, and Camping Trans-canadien handle bookings directly through their own websites or by phone. Seasonal sites are often held by returning campers, so short-stay RV renters should confirm nightly availability before travelling.
