Campgrounds and RV parks near Bonsecours, QC

Mont-Orford anchors most itineraries. Lac Stukely - Mont Orford Provincial Park has a supervised beach and a watercraft rental centre, and a 10.6 km easy bike trail connects the Lac Stukely and Lac Fraser sectors between Le Cerisier and Opeongo visitor centres, so RV guests can leave the rig and cycle between sectors. The Des Trois-Etangs path is a shorter 5.5 km easy loop from Le Cerisier centre. Lac Fraser - Mont Orford Provincial Park offers serviced and unserviced sites in a deciduous forest with its own beach and restaurant. Camping La Mine De Cuivre sits close to the La Montagnarde bicycle path. Hiking, paddling, summit access at Mont Orford, and visits to Magog, Bromont, and Sherbrooke fill out a typical week.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short and weather-driven. The Lac Stukely sector of Parc national du Mont-Orford operates from early May until mid-October, while the Lac Fraser sector runs a much shorter window from mid-June through early September, so confirm dates by sector before booking. July and August are the warmest and busiest months. Private parks such as Camping La Mine De Cuivre track a similar mid-May through mid-October window. Spring and fall are good shoulder periods for RV travellers who want quieter sites, though weather is less predictable and overnight lows can drop below freezing into late May and again from mid-September. Late September and early October bring fall colour to the sugar maples that dominate Mont-Orford, the single most popular non-summer draw. Winter camping is not offered at the standard drive-in sectors; the rustic Vallonnier sites inside the park are walk-in only and reached on foot, snowshoes, or cross-country skis.

The Mont-Orford sectors offer a mix of serviced and unserviced sites in mature forest. Lac Stukely has 276 sites with or without services, plus 21 Huttopia ready-to-camp tents and two Nova ready-to-camp units in the Meleze-Est loop. Lac Fraser has 149 sites in a deciduous setting, with 8 Huttopia tents on the Le Jaseur loop. Both sectors include a supervised beach, a watercraft rental centre, and a beach restaurant. Cell coverage is workable but inconsistent under heavy tree cover, and many interior roads are narrow, so larger Class A rigs should confirm site length before reserving. Private parks in the area, including Camping La Mine De Cuivre, lean toward full hookups, pull-throughs, pools, and structured family activities. Expect French as the default language at the parks, though staff at the larger sites are bilingual.
