Campgrounds and RV parks near Chertsey, QC

Chertsey sits in the Matawinie regional county of Lanaudière, about an hour north of Montreal in the southern Laurentian foothills. The area is built around lakes, rivers, and mixed forest, with Route 125 as the main north-south corridor for RV traffic heading to and from the city. Private campgrounds in and around the village handle most RV demand, including Camping Parc Ensoleille 2002 Inc, Les Terrasses Montcalm, Camping Fort Apache, Camping Sol Air, and Camping Laurentien. These properties typically offer a mix of seasonal lots and short-stay sites with electrical, water, and sewer hookups in varying combinations. For visitors who want a wilder backdrop, Parc régional de la Forêt Ouareau is a regional park network of trails, huts, and campsites covering roughly 150 square kilometres around Chertsey and Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci, with access to the Ouareau River and the Petite Rivière du Nord fishing trail. Sépaq's Parc national du Mont-Tremblant is also within reasonable driving range to the north for day trips or multi-night extensions.

Private campgrounds in Chertsey are booked directly with each property by phone or through their websites. Seasonal lots are typically reserved months in advance and renew year over year, so transient RV inventory is limited and fills first for July, August, and long weekends. Book summer Fridays and Saturdays as early as the previous winter when possible. For public land, Sépaq handles online reservations for camping, ready-to-camp accommodations, cabins, and daily activities across its network, including Parc national du Mont-Tremblant. Sépaq opens summer camping reservations in waves each winter, and popular waterfront sites at Lac Monroe and the Diable sector go quickly. For Forêt Ouareau, reservations are managed through the Société de développement des parcs régionaux de la Matawinie. Confirm rig length, hookup type, and pet rules at the time of booking, since site dimensions vary widely within a single park.
