Campgrounds and RV parks near Frelighsburg, QC

The area is built for slow, scenic days. Pick-your-own orchards and farm stands are clustered around Frelighsburg, vineyards and microbreweries dot the surrounding Brome-Missisquoi countryside, and Mount Pinnacle has marked hiking trails just outside town. The Pike River and Hunter Falls are within walking distance of the village core. For water-based days, Lake Carmi welcomes boats, has a boat launch, and rents kayaks; perch, walleye and pike are among the fish swimming in Lake Carmi. There are easy walking trails through the park, and swimming areas with sandy beaches in both camping areas. Bromont, about 30 minutes away, adds mountain biking, a water park, and a paved cycling network.

Camping in this area runs roughly from mid-May through mid-October. Camping des Chutes Hunter operates from mid-May to mid-October, and the KOA in Bromont operates on a similar spring-to-late-October window. Most private Quebec campgrounds near Frelighsburg follow this same pattern, with a handful of parks elsewhere in the province staying open for winter camping. South of the border, Lake Carmi State Park's reservable season runs from the third weekend in May through the second weekend in September, with limited shoulder availability into early October. Most Vermont State Parks are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day or until the second Monday in October. July and August bring the warmest weather, the busiest beaches, and the heaviest demand on sites. Late September through early October is prime for fall foliage. Winter closes the campgrounds entirely; the region shifts to skiing and snowshoeing at nearby Sutton and Bromont.

The campground has 138 tent/RV sites, 35 lean-to sites, and 2 cabins, with restrooms with hot and cold running water and token-operated hot showers, and there is an RV dump station but no hookups. Plan to arrive with full fresh water and empty holding tanks. The campground is open to overnight visitors only, and campers are assigned a PIN number to pass through the electronic security gate. Cross-border travellers need a passport and should not transport firewood: firewood from outside Vermont must be packaged, labeled, and heat-treated, with a label showing certification by the USDA or another state's agriculture department.
