Campgrounds and RV parks near Henryville, QC

Lake Champlain is the main draw. Swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and motorboating are all standard at the lakefront parks, and Camping Plage Champlain rents kayaks and paddleboards from its beach. Fishing for bass, pike, and perch is popular along both the lake and the Richelieu River. The Montérégie region has an extensive network of dedicated cycling routes, with paths passing close to Henryville and running along the Richelieu. Fort Lennox National Historic Site sits on Île aux Noix in the Richelieu River and is reached by Parks Canada shuttle boat; check Parks Canada for current-season status before planning a visit. Day trips to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu add restaurants, marinas, and a riverfront promenade.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short. Most private campgrounds open in mid-May and close by mid-September, with Camping Plage Champlain following that May 15 to September 15 pattern. A few sites stretch into early October if weather holds, but water services are usually shut off by then to prevent freezing. July and August are peak. Lakefront sites at Venise-en-Québec fill quickly on weekends and during the Quebec construction holiday in late July, so reservations well in advance are essential for waterfront pads. June and early September are quieter, with cooler nights and fewer bugs after the late-spring blackfly and mosquito peak. Spring weekends can be wet and muddy, and many parks do not open serviced sites until the Victoria Day long weekend. Winter camping is not offered at the Henryville-area lakefront parks. Fort Lennox and most regional historic sites also close from late fall through spring, reopening only for the summer-to-fall window.

Expect compact private campgrounds with a strong seasonal-camper presence: many sites are rented for the full season to returning families, and transient pads can be limited. Facilities at the larger lakefront parks typically include flush toilets, hot showers, laundry, a dépanneur (convenience store), Wi-Fi in common areas, and a pool or beach. Camping Plage Champlain has roughly 192 sites ranging from unserviced lots to fully serviced pads with water, sewer, and 30-amp electrical. French is the working language at most parks, though staff at tourist-oriented campgrounds generally speak English. Bring Canadian currency or a tap-enabled card for on-site purchases. Mosquitoes and blackflies peak from late May through June near wetlands and the lake, so pack repellent. Quiet hours are enforced, and most parks restrict campfires to designated rings.
