Campgrounds and RV parks near Pointe-Fortune, QC

Pointe-Fortune sits on the south bank of the Ottawa River at the Quebec-Ontario border, roughly an hour west of Montreal and about an hour east of Ottawa. The village is wedged between the river and the Carillon hydro dam, putting RV travellers within a short drive of campgrounds on both sides of the provincial line. Camping Trans-canadien is the closest option, a riverside family park in nearby Rigaud with full-service sites for motorhomes and trailers. Directly across the river in Ontario, Voyageur Provincial Park spans roughly 1,466 hectares with over 400 campsites spread across three campgrounds (Champlain, Iroquois and Portage) and four Ottawa River beaches. Camping Choisy and Camping D'Aoust extend the cluster of Quebec-side private parks a short drive east toward Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Travellers willing to push closer to the city can base out of Montreal West KOA in Coteau-du-Lac, which puts highway access to downtown Montreal within reach while keeping a campground footprint.

Voyageur Provincial Park is reserved through the Ontario Parks reservation service at reservations.ontarioparks.ca or by phone at 1-888-ONT-PARK. Ontario Parks uses a rolling window: reservations open at 7:00 a.m. ET, five months before the arrival date, and changes or cancellations are not permitted more than four months in advance. For peak summer weekends, book the day the five-month window opens. The Quebec-side private parks, including Camping Trans-canadien, Camping Choisy and Camping D'Aoust, are booked directly through each operator's website or by phone, with many sites held for seasonal renters and remaining transient sites filling early for July and August. Montreal West KOA takes reservations through the KOA system. RV renters should confirm site length, hookups (15/30/50 amp) and slide-out clearance before booking.
