Campgrounds and RV parks near Rivière-à-Pierre, QC

Rivière-à-Pierre is a small municipality in the Portneuf region of Quebec's Capitale-Nationale, about an hour northwest of Quebec City. The territory covers a mountainous, heavily forested area of the Canadian Shield with hundreds of lakes, making it a practical base for RV trips focused on fishing, paddling, hiking, and quiet lakeside camping. The village sits at the southern edge of the Réserve faunique de Portneuf, a 775 km² Sépaq wildlife reserve that is the dominant outdoor destination in the area. Closest to town, Lac Bellevue - Portneuf Reserve offers unserviced sites on a sandy lake shore, plus a handful of Hekipia ready-to-camp tents for visitors travelling without gear. Further west into the Mauricie backcountry, Lac aux Sables - Mastigouche Reserve provides rustic sites near small fishing lakes. Elsewhere in the Portneuf and Mauricie areas, Camping Etsanha sits along the Bras-du-Nord river in Saint-Raymond, Camping La Gervaisie is in the Mauricie region, and Camping Panoramique overlooks the St. Lawrence near Portneuf with full-service RV sites.

Camping at both Lac Bellevue - Portneuf Reserve and Lac aux Sables - Mastigouche Reserve is managed through Sépaq, Quebec's provincial parks and wildlife reserve operator. Reservations are made online at sepaq.com or by phone at 1-800-665-6527, and a daily access fee applies on top of the campsite charge. Sépaq opens wildlife-reserve camping for the following summer roughly a year ahead, typically in late April or early May, and prime weekends at Lac Bellevue go quickly once the calendar opens. For Mastigouche, fishing access rights and day fishing on Lac au Sorcier follow separate Sépaq processes, with some lakes assigned by evening draw at the sector warden's cabin. Private campgrounds, including Camping Etsanha, Camping La Gervaisie, and Camping Panoramique, are booked directly with each operator and generally accept larger motorhomes and trailers that the rustic Sépaq sites cannot.
