Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, QC

The Ottawa River drives most warm-weather activity in the area. Voyageur Provincial Park has four beaches, two boat launches, and two easy interpretive trails, plus flatwater for canoes, kayaks, and motorboats. Anglers commonly catch bass, pike, perch, and walleye on the river, with tackle and bait available at the park store. Camping Choisy leans family-resort, with two pools (one adult-only with spa, one heated family pool), mini-golf, an obstacle course, tennis, playgrounds, and on-site activities included with the stay. Mont Rigaud trails and a free winter shuttle expand the off-season options. Montreal and Ottawa are both reachable as day trips, each about an hour away.

The Quebec private campgrounds run a standard May-to-mid-October season. Camping Choisy typically opens around May 1 and closes around mid-October, with a small number of rental traveller sites now available for winter stays tied to the Mont Rigaud area. Voyageur Provincial Park's Champlain Campground stays open longer than the others, running May through October and reopening December through March for winter use. Iroquois and Portage campgrounds operate during the warm-weather season only. Demand peaks around the Saint-Jean-Baptiste long weekend on June 24 and Canada Day on July 1, with the Ottawa-area corridor especially busy. July and August are the warmest and most reliable months for beach use and swimming. September brings cooler nights and fall colour through the region; many sites stay bookable but services begin winding down. Spring shoulder weeks can be wet, with snowmelt raising Ottawa River levels.

Expect a bilingual region: French is the working language on the Quebec side, though staff at the larger campgrounds generally speak English. Voyageur Provincial Park offers a mix of electrical and unserviced sites across Champlain, Iroquois, and Portage campgrounds, with comfort stations, showers, laundry, water taps, and a dump station. One Iroquois loop is designated radio-free and another is pet-free; the rest of the park is dog-friendly. Quebec private parks tend toward resort-style amenities: pools, organized activities, playgrounds, and on-site stores. Highway noise is audible at some riverside sites near the Trans-Canada corridor. Cell coverage is generally reliable across major providers. Groceries and fuel are available in Lachute, Hawkesbury, and Rigaud.
