Saint-Étienne-des-Grès sits in Quebec's Mauricie region, roughly halfway between Trois-Rivières and Shawinigan, just off Autoroute 55. The village is a practical base for RV trips because it puts campers within a short drive of the Saint-Maurice River, La Mauricie National Park, and the urban services of Trois-Rivières. Local options range from family-run resort-style parks to quieter wooded sites. Camping Les Lions D Or, Camping Lac St-Michel, Camping La Rochelle Inc, Camping Du Parc, and Domaine Au Grand R Inc make up the nearby choices, with a mix of seasonal and transient sites suited to trailers and motorhomes. Most provide electrical and water hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits, and several add pools, playgrounds, and lake access. Most private grounds in this area open in mid-May and close around mid-October, matching Quebec's frost-bracketed camping season. RV renters traveling with kids will find playgrounds, swimming, and organized activities at several of the larger parks, while quieter wooded sites are also available for those who prefer a calmer setting.
