Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Anne-de-Sabrevois, QC

The Richelieu River is the main draw. Ryan Wharf in the village is a designated Alo Richelieu stopover where visitors can rent kayaks, paddleboards, fishing rods, and zodiacs, or try electric surfing with EcoSurf Canada. A free inflatable Wibit obstacle course and a river shuttle to Marina St-Tropez in Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu operate during the summer. Cyclists can pick up the Exploration champêtre circuit at the same wharf, a 68-km loop through five surrounding municipalities that can be split across two days with a stopover in Venise-en-Québec. On land, families visit the Reid farm about five minutes north for its annual corn maze and small farm animals, and Henryville Orchard about eight minutes south during apple season. Cultural stops include the Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Sabrevois, the Musée Honoré-Mercier, and the Centre d'Arts de Sabrevois in a converted church.

Camping in this part of Quebec is a strictly warm-season activity. Most private campgrounds around Sainte-Anne-de-Sabrevois operate from roughly mid-May through mid-September. Camping Plage Champlain, for example, is open from May 15 to September 15, while Camping Les Cedres runs a longer season from May 1 to September 30, with its water park limited to a shorter mid-summer window from late June to late August. July and August are peak months. Weekends fill quickly at lakefront properties on Lake Champlain and at the larger family campgrounds, so RV travellers planning a summer trip should book several weeks in advance. Weekday arrivals in early June and mid-September are noticeably quieter and often eligible for low-season rates. Spring can be wet along the Richelieu, and the river has a history of flooding in high-water years, which occasionally affects riverside sites. Fall brings cool nights and reliable colour through late September, though many campgrounds have already closed for the season. Winter camping is not offered at the properties listed here.

Expect a family-oriented, francophone camping culture. Staff at most properties speak French first, though English is widely understood at the larger campgrounds. Sites are typically grassy or gravel pads with picnic tables and fire rings, and most campgrounds enforce a quiet curfew around 11 p.m. Amenities vary. Larger properties such as Camping Les Cedres include a restaurant, convenience store, swimming pool, beach, water slides, mini-golf, sports fields, and playgrounds. Lakefront sites at Camping Plage Champlain focus on sandy beach access, boat and paddle rentals, and a laundry and shower block, with sites ranging from unserviced to full three-service hookups. Smaller inland campgrounds like Camping Des Arpents Verts and Camping Domaine Du Reve lean quieter. Bring bug spray for June and early July, when mosquitoes are active near the river and lake, and pack layers for cool evenings even in mid-summer.
