The private camping season in Lanaudière is short. Most family campgrounds in the area open in mid-May and close in mid-September, mirroring the broader Quebec norm. Sites along the rivers can be slow to dry out in early spring, so opening dates sometimes shift with snowmelt and runoff conditions, and campers should confirm directly with each operator before traveling. July and the Quebec construction holiday in late July through early August are the busiest weeks of the year, when many Quebecers take their vacations and inland campgrounds fill quickly. Booking several weeks ahead is recommended for any weekend in July or August. Shoulder weeks before late June and after early September are notably quieter and cooler. For year-round RV access, Parc national du Mont-Tremblant remains the main option north of here. The Diable sector campground is open year-round, with rustic winter camping available by reservation only, and the Pimbina-Saint-Donat sector offers winter cabins and snowshoe trails from mid-December to mid-March.
