Hiking is the headline activity. The terrain of Parc régional des Sept-Chutes features Mont Brassard at roughly 650 metres and Mont Barrière at 610 metres, with rocky ridges, a maple grove, and several belvederes. The Mont Brassard trail follows the top of the Lac Rémi cliff and offers views of the lake, the Rivière Noire valley, and the high hills of Saint-Zénon, making it a popular fall-colour route. The park's signature waterfall, the Voile de la Mariée on the Rivière Noire, drops about 60 metres and is reached by a riverside trail. Paddlers can run calm-water sections of the Rivière Noire between the village and the park boundary. The Sentier national du Québec also passes through the municipality, and snowmobile and ATV trail networks connect the area in winter.

The private RV season in Lanaudière typically runs from mid-May through Canadian Thanksgiving in mid-October, with most serviced sites closing once overnight temperatures drop below freezing. July and August are peak months: warm days, long evenings, and the busiest paddling weekends on the Rivière Noire. Reserve early for the Quebec construction holiday in late July and for any weekend in August. Late September and early October bring the strongest draw of the year for hikers. The Mont Barrière trail crosses a sugar maple stand that turns vivid in autumn, and weekend traffic at Sept-Chutes spikes accordingly. Bookings for fall-colour weekends fill weeks ahead. Spring opens slowly. Snowmelt keeps rivers high through May, trails can stay muddy into early June, and blackflies peak from late May into mid-June. Parc régional des Sept-Chutes is open year-round, but the reception desk runs on weekend hours outside peak season, which sets the practical rhythm of the green season. Winter access continues for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, but RV-serviced camping is not available.

Expect a mix of wooded, riverside, and lakeside sites rather than large resort-style parks. Many local campgrounds favour quiet, shaded layouts with mature trees, and the surrounding hills make for dark night skies. Hookup availability varies. Some sites offer two- or three-service hookups; others are unserviced and better suited to self-contained rigs and vans. Cell coverage is generally adequate in the village and patchy in the surrounding hills and parks. Road access uses Route 131, which is paved and RV-friendly, though side roads into more remote campgrounds can be narrow and gravelled. Bring bug spray from late May through July, and pack layers for cool nights even in summer.
