Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Thècle, QC

Sainte-Thècle sits in Quebec's Mauricie region, north of Shawinigan in the Laurentian foothills. The village is a practical base for RV travellers heading into a lake-dense corner of the province, with access to both private campgrounds and two large public outdoor networks: La Mauricie National Park, run by Parks Canada, and Réserve faunique Mastigouche, managed by Sépaq. The closest options for RV camping are private parks within or just outside the municipality. Camping La Gervaisie, Camping Rouillard Inc, and Camping Otamac Inc all sit within a short drive and cater to trailers and motorhomes. For a public-park experience, the Lac aux Sables sector of Réserve faunique Mastigouche offers rustic sites along the shoreline, while Riviere-a-la-peche Campground in La Mauricie National Park provides a larger frontcountry base roughly a half-hour south. The mix lets renters choose between full-service private grounds and protected-area sites with more remote character.

Reservation systems vary by operator. For La Mauricie National Park, all semi-serviced campsites are reserved through the Parks Canada Reservation Service under the Frontcountry Camping heading, where reservation procedures and the refund policy are listed. Bookings are made online at reservation.pc.gc.ca or by phone. Summer reservations for La Mauricie typically open in early February at 8 a.m. ET in the Parks Canada system, and popular loops fill quickly for weekends. For Réserve faunique Mastigouche, including the Lac aux Sables sector, camping and cabins are booked through Sépaq's reservation portal at sepaq.com. Private parks near Sainte-Thècle, such as Camping La Gervaisie, Camping Rouillard Inc, and Camping Otamac Inc, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites; booking ahead is advised for July and August weekends.
