Campgrounds and RV parks near Waterloo, QC

Cycling is the headline activity. Waterloo sits at the eastern end of l'Estriade, a paved rail-trail that runs to Granby, and connects to la Montagnarde toward Mont-Orford and la Campagnarde toward Drummondville as part of the Route Verte network. Mont Bromont's lift-served mountain biking and downhill trails, along with the Bromont water park, are about fifteen minutes east. Families often pair a camping stay with a day at Granby Zoo, roughly twenty minutes northwest. Parc national de la Yamaska, the closest Sépaq park, offers a supervised beach on Réservoir Choinière, pedal-boat and kayak rentals, and interpretive activities led by park wardens. Closer to town, Lake Waterloo has a municipal beach, and the surrounding Brome-Missisquoi area is known for cider houses, vineyards, and farm markets.

Most campgrounds around Waterloo are seasonal. Camping Parc Bromont typically opens in mid-April and stays open through late October, and Parc national de la Yamaska's campground operates roughly from early May to mid-October depending on the sector. The other private parks in the area follow a similar mid-spring to mid-fall pattern, with limited or no winter RV operations. July and August are peak season. Weekends fill quickly during the Quebec construction holiday and back-to-school weekends, and serviced sites at the Bromont campgrounds and at Yamaska are often booked weeks in advance. June is warm but wet, and biting insects (blackflies, then mosquitoes) are most active from late May through early July. September and early October are the strongest shoulder months: cooler nights, fewer insects, and foliage colour that peaks across the Eastern Townships from late September into mid-October. By late October most parks have closed services and winterized the water lines.

The local language is French. Staff at the larger campgrounds and at Sépaq usually speak some English, but signage, voicemail menus, and smaller operators may be French-only, so a translation app is useful. Roads into the campgrounds are paved and easily handled by Class A, Class C, and travel trailers, though several private parks have tight interior loops better suited to rigs under about 35 feet. Most serviced sites offer 30-amp electric, water, and sewer; 50-amp service is less common and worth confirming when booking. Cell coverage is reliable throughout the Waterloo, Bromont, and Granby corridor. Quiet hours are enforced at the Bromont campgrounds and at Yamaska. Dogs are generally welcome on leash at the private parks; at Yamaska they are restricted to designated sectors. Firewood should be bought locally to avoid moving pests.
