Campgrounds and RV parks near Little Pine 116, SK

Water recreation drives most trips in this area. The Battlefords Provincial Park sits on the north-east shore of Jackfish Lake and offers camping, two large beaches, an 18-hole golf course, disc golf, fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking and biking trails, and a lakeshore mini-golf. In winter the park hosts a mid-winter cross-country ski loppet. Attons Lake Regional Park adds a nine-hole grass-greens golf course with a licensed clubhouse, ball diamonds, a pickle ball court, an unsupervised swimming area and a boat launch. Anglers can target walleye, northern pike and yellow perch in Atton Lake, though motor boats are not allowed on Saturdays and Sundays from June to August. Bright Sand Lake Provincial Rec Site adds mini-golf, roughly 28 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, a boat launch, a trout pond, playgrounds, fishing and swimming. Staying at Eiling Kramer Campground puts Fort Battleford National Historic Site and the river valley within walking distance.

The camping season in this part of Saskatchewan is short and concentrated. The best time to visit The Battlefords Provincial Park is from May to September when full services are available and the weather is suited to outdoor activities. Regional parks such as Attons Lake and Brightsand generally follow a similar May-through-September pattern, with reservations opening in February for Attons Lake and on April 1 for Brightsand. Summer is peak season. July and August bring warm daytime temperatures, active beaches and full concessions, but weekends fill quickly at the lake parks. On Saturdays and Sundays from June to August motors are banned on Atton Lake, which keeps the water quiet for swimmers and paddlers. Shoulder months offer trade-offs. May and September are cooler with more availability, but lifeguarding and some services taper off. Winter closes most campgrounds, though The Battlefords Provincial Park keeps ice fishing access and cross-country ski activity. The park authority at Attons Lake reserves the right to declare a fire ban at any time, so check park notices before departure.

Sites range from full-service to rustic. Attons Lake offers 30, 20 and 15 amp and non-serviced campsites, most with water hook-up on site or nearby, and modern washrooms with free showers. The Battlefords Provincial Park has 317 individual campsites, 291 of which are electrified, and all sites are within walking distance of the lake, a store, showers, laundry, golf course, concession, picnic sites and a sand beach. Sites at The Battlefords range from non-electric to 15, 30 and 50 amp service, all with a fire pit and picnic table, and the campground has trash bins, modern restrooms, showers, laundry, a playground, picnic shelters, two sewage disposals and a nearby camp store. Many sites accommodate rigs up to 50 feet, but larger RVs should contact the office to confirm fit. Eiling Kramer Campground in Battleford contains 74 campsites with 57 electrified, located between the Fred Light Museum and Fort Battleford National Historic Site. Cell coverage is generally reliable in Battleford; expect weaker signal at outlying lake parks.
