Campgrounds and RV parks near Wadena, SK

Wadena sits in east-central Saskatchewan's aspen parkland, within driving distance of two of the province's founding lake-based provincial parks. RV travellers use Wadena as a jumping-off point for Greenwater Lake Provincial Park to the north and Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park to the southeast, with smaller municipal and regional campgrounds filling in between. Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is the closest full-service provincial option, located on Highway 38 about 40 kilometres north of Kelvington in the Porcupine Hills. It offers beach access, an 18-hole golf course, and extensive trail networks through boreal forest. Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park lies roughly 48 kilometres northwest of Yorkton and is best known for its sandy beach and natural sand dunes. Smaller stops round out the area. Preeceville Park is a compact municipal campground useful as an overnight en route to the Duck Mountain region. Tisdale Riverside Golf Course, northwest of Wadena, offers campsites tied to its golf property and suits shorter stays for travellers combining a round of golf with the drive.

Saskatchewan Provincial Parks use a single online reservation system at parks.saskatchewan.ca. Seasonal sites open first in mid-April, followed by nightly sites (economy, electric, full-service, non-electric, equestrian, and Camp-Easy yurts) on staggered launch days over the following week. Reservations open at 7:00 a.m. CST each day, and campers can also book group camping, pavilions, picnic shelters, and recreation halls for the following season on the same launch day. A valid vehicle entry permit is required for every vehicle in a provincial park and can be purchased online in advance or at the gate. Municipal campgrounds like Preeceville Park are typically booked directly with the operator. Regional parks and golf-course campgrounds such as Tisdale Riverside Golf Course also handle bookings on their own systems, so confirm hookup type and rig-length limits when you call.
