Campgrounds and RV parks near Centreville, AL

Centreville sits in Bibb County in central Alabama, roughly an hour southwest of Birmingham and within easy reach of several state-run parks and private RV campgrounds. The area combines Talladega National Forest terrain to the north and the Cahaba River corridor to the east, giving RV travelers a mix of wooded, creek-side, and open-country camping within about an hour's drive. The closest state park camping is Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park, a small, wooded park with modern hookups next to a Civil War-era furnace site. Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park lies northeast toward McCalla and is one of the largest campgrounds in the region, with roughly 195 improved sites plus a separate primitive area spread across a 1,500-acre historic property. To the south, Paul M Grist State Park offers quieter, more remote camping on a 100-acre lake north of Selma. Private options in and around Centreville include Bama RV Station and Rolling Hills RV Park, which suit travelers who want simpler check-in, full hookups, and easy highway access.

Booking rules vary by property, so plan by park. Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park operates its campground on a first-come, first-served basis, with round-the-clock on-site registration and no advance site reservations; arriving earlier in the day improves the odds during spring break, holiday weekends, and Trade Days events. Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park now takes campground bookings directly through the park, with a non-refundable first-night deposit required to hold a site. Paul M Grist State Park is managed in partnership with Dallas County, and campsite bookings are handled by phone with the park office rather than through a general online portal. Private options such as Bama RV Station and Rolling Hills RV Park handle reservations directly by phone or through their own websites, and typically confirm hookups, rig length, and pull-through availability at booking.
