The closest RV parks cluster around Smith Lake. Hidden Cove RV Resort is a Thousand Trails lakefront property with full-hookup sites and rentals. Arrowhead RV Resort at Smith Lake and Unhitched Arrowhead RV Park sit on the lake at Crane Hill, offering lakefront and pondside full-hookup sites plus boat access.
For a state-park option, Rickwood Caverns State Park lies roughly an hour southeast near Warrior, with developed sites, a swimming pool fed by cavern water, and guided cave tours. Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, southwest of Birmingham near McCalla, adds a much larger campground with historic ironworks ruins and heritage programming.
Things to do around Parrish

Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel in this part of Alabama. March through May brings warm days, wildflowers, and higher rainfall, along with the region's severe-weather season, so travelers should monitor storm outlooks. Fall runs milder and drier, with color peaking in October and November across the ridges above Smith Lake.
Summer is peak season on the lake. Weekends at private resorts and county parks book heavily, and the swimming pool and cave tours at Rickwood Caverns State Park draw families through the school break. Humidity is high, and afternoon thunderstorms are common.
Winter is quiet. Rickwood Caverns keeps campsites open but closes seasonal showers from November through February, and Alabama State Parks offers monthly winter rates at Rickwood from December through February for longer stays. Many private Smith Lake resorts stay open year-round with reduced amenities. Freezes occur but rarely last long.
How to book near Parrish
Alabama State Parks with reservable camping use a central reservation system at reservealapark.com. Rickwood Caverns State Park can be booked online, and the park office also takes phone reservations at 205-647-9692. Weekend stays at Rickwood require a two-night minimum, and major holidays require three nights. Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park runs its campground on a first-come, first-served basis, so early weekend arrivals help during trade-days weekends and the Halloween festival.
Private parks around Smith Lake use their own systems. Hidden Cove RV Resort is a Thousand Trails property booked through the Thousand Trails site or membership portal. Arrowhead RV Resort at Smith Lake and Unhitched Arrowhead RV Park are reserved through the operator's website. Cave tours at Rickwood are ticketed separately and can sell out.
What to expect near Parrish
Terrain around Parrish is rolling and wooded, with pine and hardwood cover and narrow county roads leading to lake access points. GPS routing to Smith Lake campgrounds sometimes sends drivers onto tight backroads, so larger rigs should confirm the recommended approach with the campground before arrival.
Sites at Hidden Cove RV Resort, Arrowhead RV Resort at Smith Lake, and Unhitched Arrowhead RV Park run to full hookups with lake or pond frontage available. Rickwood Caverns has a smaller campground with water and electric hookups and a dump station rather than individual sewer. Tannehill offers a mix of full-hookup, water-and-electric, and primitive sites across three campground areas.
Cell coverage is spotty in some coves and along forest roads. Expect insects in warm months, and pack for humidity.
