Camping near Point Clear, Alabama
Point Clear sits on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay in Baldwin County, just south of Fairhope and roughly 45 minutes from the Gulf Shores beaches. The area is a mix of moss-draped live oaks, bay-front bluffs, and small resort communities, which makes it a practical base for RV travelers who want quiet inland sites within easy reach of both the bay and the Gulf.
RV options close to town lean toward mid-size private resorts rather than public campgrounds. The immediate area does not offer a lot of dedicated RV camping, so most visitors book at private parks such as Fairhope Motorcoach Resort, Wales West RV Resort, Rainbow Plantation RV Park, Magnolia Farms RV Park, and Magnolia Springs RV Hideaway Campground. These sit within a 20- to 30-minute drive of Point Clear and typically offer full hookups and paved or gravel pads.
For state-park camping, the closest major public option is Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, which is under an hour south by road.
Things to do around Point Clear
Mobile Bay itself is the main draw. Visitors can walk the Fairhope Municipal Pier, fish for speckled trout and redfish, and watch for the rare summer jubilee events on the eastern shore. The bluff-top parks in Fairhope have picnic areas, rose gardens, and shaded playgrounds a short drive from most RV parks in the area.
Day trips fan out in every direction. Weeks Bay Reserve and the Magnolia Springs area offer boardwalks and paddling. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach put white-sand Gulf beaches within about an hour, and downtown Mobile adds museums including the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. Rainy-day options include the Estuarium at Dauphin Island and the shops and restaurants along Fairhope Avenue.

Summer brings frequent afternoon thunderstorms and heat indexes that often push past 100F. It also overlaps with Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June through November and peaks in September, so travelers should watch the National Hurricane Center forecast and choose parks with sturdy hookups and clear evacuation routes.
Winter is the mildest season on the Gulf Coast and a popular snowbird stretch. Many private parks in Baldwin County fill up from January through March with monthly renters, and monthly reservations at Gulf State Park are available for the months of November through March. Book winter and spring stays several months in advance.

Jeff was really easy to work with. As a first time renter on this app he walked me through all the steps and accessories needed to house my family that traveled from Utah.

How to book campgrounds near Point Clear
Most campgrounds near Point Clear are privately owned and take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Fairhope Motorcoach Resort, Wales West RV Resort, Rainbow Plantation RV Park, Magnolia Farms RV Park, and Magnolia Springs RV Hideaway Campground each set their own deposit, cancellation, and minimum-stay rules, so review the policy before locking in dates.
For state-park camping, Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores uses the Alabama State Parks reservation portal.
