Campgrounds and RV parks near Arivaca Junction, AZ

Arivaca Junction is a small census-designated place in Pima County, Arizona, sitting at roughly 3,140 feet elevation along Interstate 19 between Tucson and Nogales. The location puts RV travelers within short driving distance of the Santa Cruz River valley, the Santa Rita Mountains, and the grasslands of the Altar Valley, all of which shape the local camping options. Most developed camping in the area consists of privately owned RV parks catering to snowbirds and long-stay travelers. De Anza Trails RV Resort and Green Valley RV Resort Park sit closest to the junction and offer full-hookup sites, while Caballo Loco Ranch LLC, Mesquite Ranch Campground, and Universal Ranch RV Park round out the nearby options with a mix of RV sites and ranch-style stays. Public-land camping in the surrounding Coronado National Forest tends toward primitive and dispersed use, so RV renters generally base out of the private parks and take day trips into the backcountry.

Private parks in the area, including De Anza Trails RV Resort, Green Valley RV Resort Park, Caballo Loco Ranch LLC, Mesquite Ranch Campground, and Universal Ranch RV Park, take reservations directly through their own offices or websites. Winter stays often require deposits and multi-night minimums, and monthly rates are the norm for snowbird bookings. Coronado National Forest campgrounds and other federal sites in the region are booked through Recreation.gov, generally on a six-month rolling window. Arizona State Parks reservations, useful for a Patagonia Lake overnight, go through the Arizona State Parks reservation system and open several months in advance. For holiday weekends and the January to March peak, plan on securing sites well ahead.
