Campgrounds near Arizona Village
Arizona Village sits on the Arizona side of the Colorado River, directly across from Needles, California, at the point where the river forms the border between the two states. The area is part of Mohave County and functions as a small residential and RV community along the river corridor between Bullhead City to the north and Lake Havasu City to the south. Interstate 40 runs just north of the village, making it a common stop for RV travelers moving between California and northern Arizona.
RV options cluster along the river and nearby highways. Needles Marina RV Park and Fenders River Road Resort and Motel sit on the California side within a short drive, while NorthShore RV Resort, Desert View RV Resort, and Happy Together RV Resort serve travelers on both sides of the state line. Most properties offer full hookups, and the surrounding Bureau of Land Management terrain provides dispersed camping for self-contained rigs.
The location is best understood as a low-desert river base for boating, off-roading, and snowbird stays rather than a scenic mountain destination.
Things to do near Arizona Village
The Colorado River is the main draw. Boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming are all accessible from riverfront parks, and the backwaters near Topock Gorge and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge are popular for paddling and birdwatching. Motorized vehicles are not permitted inside the refuge, but the surrounding BLM land offers extensive OHV and ATV routes.
Route 66 heritage sites in Needles, the historic mining town of Oatman, and the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City are all within a manageable drive. Laughlin, Nevada, about 30 miles north, adds casinos, riverfront dining, and jet-boat tours.
For shorter outings, Needles Marina RV Park and Fenders River Road Resort and Motel provide direct river access, and several nearby launches make day trips upstream or downstream straightforward.

This stretch of the Lower Colorado River is one of the hottest inhabited areas in North America. Summer highs regularly exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and readings above 115 are possible in July. RV travel is feasible in summer, but shore power, functioning air conditioning, and shaded sites become non-negotiable, and midday outdoor activity should be limited.
Late summer brings the North American Monsoon, with isolated but intense thunderstorms, flash-flood risk in washes, and blowing dust. Fall cools quickly through October and November and is one of the more comfortable windows for camping and boating.
Winter is the peak season. From November through March, mild daytime temperatures draw large numbers of snowbirds from colder states and Canadian provinces, and full-hookup parks along the river fill weeks or months in advance. Spring stays pleasant into April, then heats rapidly through May as summer conditions return.
Booking and reservations
Private RV resorts in the Arizona Village and Needles area, including Needles Marina RV Park, Fenders River Road Resort and Motel, NorthShore RV Resort, Desert View RV Resort, and Happy Together RV Resort, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Winter is the constrained season: snowbird sites often book months out, and monthly and seasonal stays are common.
Public land camping in the area falls under the Bureau of Land Management Lake Havasu Field Office and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. Dispersed BLM camping near Needle Mountain Road is first-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit, no hookups, and pack-in, pack-out rules.
For Arizona and California state parks along the river, reservations are handled through the respective state park reservation systems and should be made well ahead for holiday weekends.
What to expect on the ground
Terrain is flat desert river-bottom with sparse vegetation, rocky washes, and long sight lines. Sites at riverfront resorts are typically level gravel or paved pads with full hookups, and many parks lean toward long-term and snowbird guests, meaning quieter rules and a mature clientele in winter.
Cell coverage is generally good along the Interstate 40 corridor and the main river communities, and grocery, fuel, propane, and RV service are available in Needles and Bullhead City. Water in the region is hard, so an inline filter is useful.
Expect strong sun, low humidity, and significant day-night temperature swings outside of summer. Bring shade, extra fresh water, and secure any lightweight gear against wind gusts common in spring and during monsoon storms.

mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=187When is the best time to take an Arizona Village RV trip?

November through March is prime snowbird season; February and March bring spring wildflowers in the Mohave Desert. Summer (June through September) regularly tops 110 degrees, sometimes hitting 115 in July, so plan early-morning drives, run dual AC, and pick a riverfront site for evening swims. weather.gov/vef/I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay renting one in Arizona Village?
You'll be just fine, this is a great place for first time renting an RV. The roads around Arizona Village are flat, wide, and lightly trafficked compared with big-city driving, and Arizona State Route 95 runs straight through the area with easy pull-offs. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, covering the generator, slide-outs, propane, and dump procedure. Many hosts also offer delivery so you can skip driving the rig entirely and just drive your own car to camp. Pro tip: book a Class C motorhome or campervan for your first trip; they drive much more like a large van than a bus and are easy to maneuver around Bullhead City and Laughlin.
azdot.gov/motor-vehicles/driver-services/driver-license-informationWhat if something breaks down during my RV trip from Arizona Village?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on US-95, a dead battery at Katherine Landing, or a propane issue at Davis Camp is one phone call away from a fix. Your host is also just a message away in the RVezy app to help you troubleshoot the quirks of their specific rig. Cell service is solid throughout Mohave Valley, Bullhead City, and along most of I-40. Pro tip: before you leave camp, snap photos of your VIN, license plate, and tire size, that way the dispatcher can send the right help immediately if anything pops up in a remote stretch.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Arizona Village RV rental across state lines or to Mexico?
Absolutely, an RV road trip from Arizona Village is built for crossing borders. You can cross the Colorado River into California in minutes (Needles is 2 miles away), drive to Nevada for Laughlin casinos or Las Vegas, and head deeper into Utah for Zion (about 220 miles) or the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Just confirm interstate travel with your host before booking. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and the protection package don't extend south of the border. Pro tip: a loop through Nevada and back via I-40 is one of the most popular routes, with great fuel stops in Kingman.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
Budgeting fuel for an Arizona Village RV trip is straightforward. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon on gas, Class B campervans average 16 to 20 mpg, and a half-ton truck pulling a travel trailer lands around 9 to 13 mpg. Arizona gas prices typically run a bit below the California average, so fuel up on the Arizona side of the river before crossing west on I-40. For a 500-mile loop in a Class C, plan roughly $200 to $275 in fuel. Pro tip: the Pilot in Kingman and the Love's in Fort Mohave have big-rig friendly lanes and are the easiest fill-ups for first-time RV drivers.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Arizona Village?
For peak snowbird season (December through March), aim to reserve riverfront sites at Davis Camp, Katherine Landing, and Moon River RV Resort 3 to 6 months out, popular holiday weekends like Thanksgiving and President's Day fill even earlier. National Park Service sites in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, including Katherine Landing, book through Recreation.gov up to 6 months in advance. Summer and early fall are far easier, often available a week or two ahead. Pro tip: if you strike out on a riverfront site, look at Fiesta RV Resort or Silverview RV Resort in Bullhead City as solid Plan B options, then watch Recreation.gov for cancellations the week before your trip.
recreation.gov/camping/gateways/2725What are the driving conditions like around Arizona Village?
Driving around Arizona Village is refreshingly easy. Arizona State Route 95 is a flat, two-to-four-lane highway connecting Needles, Mohave Valley, Fort Mohave, and Bullhead City, with low traffic outside of casino weekends in Laughlin. I-40 is your gateway east to Kingman and west to California. Watch for occasional summer dust storms (called haboobs) and flash-flood washes after monsoon rains in July and August; pull off and wait it out if visibility drops. Bridges into Laughlin have standard height clearances, and there are no tight mountain switchbacks nearby. Pro tip: top up fuel before leaving Bullhead City if you're heading toward the Grand Canyon West, services thin out fast after Kingman.

Many hosts include a generator (essential for boondocking near Lake Mohave), outdoor chairs, a BBQ, and kitchen starter kits. Wi-Fi and TV vary by listing and are clearly noted. Many hosts list a delivery fee per mile from their home base near Bullhead City or Fort Mohave, and some offer pickup directly at Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport. Mileage policies are usually 100 to 150 free miles per night, with unlimited options available too. Pro tip: if you want a family RV trip Arizona Village style with minimum fuss, bundle delivery, setup, generator hours, and linens, your only chore on arrival is opening a cold drink.
bullheadcity.com/visitorsHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Arizona Village?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card at booking, no cash or off-platform transfers, ever. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, the exact amount is shown on each listing and depends on the rig and your chosen protection level. After a clean return with no damage or policy violations, the hold is released back to your card, typically within a few business days. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround with your host at both pickup and drop-off and save it to your phone, it is the single best way to ensure your full deposit comes back fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow do I handle the summer heat on an Arizona Village RV trip?
Yes, you can absolutely enjoy summer here, you just plan around the heat. From June through September, Arizona Village regularly hits 105 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, so drive in the early morning, run both AC units on shore power (50-amp sites at Silverview RV Resort and Fiesta RV Resort handle dual AC easily), and pick a campground with a pool or river access like Davis Camp. Hydrate constantly, watch for monsoon storms in July and August, and avoid long midday hikes. Pro tip: book a riverfront site and plan your days around the water, jet ski rentals at Katherine Landing and floating the Colorado from Bullhead City are the locals' summer secret for staying cool.
