Campgrounds and RV parks near Oracle, AZ

Oracle sits at roughly 4,500 feet on the northern flank of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Pinal County, about 35 miles north of Tucson. The higher elevation keeps summer temperatures noticeably cooler than the Tucson basin, which makes the town a practical RV base for exploring the Catalinas, the Galiuro range, and the surrounding Sonoran Desert year-round. RV options cluster in two zones. In and immediately around Oracle, small full-hookup parks such as Wishing Well RV Park, Far Horizons Trailer Village, South Forty RV Ranch, and Miracle RV Park cater to longer stays and snowbirds in quieter, town-adjacent settings. South of town, Catalina State Park offers 120 campsites with electric and water hookups at the base of the Catalinas, and remains the closest developed public campground to Oracle. Oracle State Park itself is day-use only, so overnight RV travelers plan around it rather than in it. Most trips to the area combine a hookup site in or near Oracle with day trips into the state and national forest lands nearby.

Catalina State Park campsite reservations are available online or by calling the Arizona State Parks Reservation Desk at 1-877-MY PARKS (697-2757). The park has 120 electric and water sites, plus the seasonal Ringtail Campground, which operates without hookups from January 1 through March 31. Reservations are limited to 14 consecutive nights and can be booked up to 12 months in advance, and prime winter and spring weekends fill early. Oracle State Park does not offer overnight camping. Peppersauce Canyon and other Coronado National Forest sites are managed by the U.S. Forest Service and are largely first-come, first-served. Private parks such as Wishing Well RV Park, Far Horizons Trailer Village, South Forty RV Park, and Miracle RV Park are booked directly with the property, and monthly winter stays should be arranged well ahead.
