Campgrounds and RV parks near White Mountain Lake, AZ

White Mountain Lake sits in Navajo County in east-central Arizona, on the Colorado Plateau at roughly 6,000 feet elevation. The area is part of Arizona's White Mountains region, a high-country escape from the desert heat of Phoenix and Tucson that draws RV travelers in the warmer months for fishing, boating, and pine-forest camping. Most campground infrastructure for RV renters lies within a short drive west toward Show Low, at the edge of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Fool Hollow Lake Recreational Area is the flagship public option, an Arizona State Parks facility managed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service. K-Bar RV Resort, Venture In RV Resort, Woodfield RV, and Waltner's RV Resort provide private-park alternatives with full hookups when the state park is booked or when travelers want longer-stay amenities. The surrounding landscape mixes juniper and pinyon at lower elevations with the ponderosa pine belt above Show Low, giving campers cooler summer nights than most of Arizona and easy access to lakes, trout streams, and the White Mountain Trail System.

Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is reserved through the Arizona State Parks system, online or by phone. Individual sites can be booked up to six months in advance, and reservations are strongly recommended for summer weekends. A small non-refundable reservation fee applies per site. Check-in is 2 p.m. and check-out is noon. Private parks such as K-Bar RV Resort, Venture In RV Resort, Woodfield RV, and Waltner's RV Resort book directly with the operator, typically by phone or through their own websites. Monthly and seasonal stays are common at private resorts, so summer inventory can be tight. For holiday weekends and the July-August monsoon window, book as early as possible; the Mallard and Redhead loops at Fool Hollow, which offer sewer hookups, tend to sell out first.
