Campgrounds and RV parks near Des Arc, AR

Des Arc sits on the west bank of the White River in Prairie County, in the eastern Arkansas Delta. It is a small county-seat town of under two thousand residents, surrounded by White River lowlands, bayous, and the Grand Prairie farming country to the south. The river, the Cache River drainage, and nearby wildlife management areas define most of the local recreation. RV options in town are limited, so many travelers base out of nearby parks along the I-40 corridor and drive in for the day. H and G RV Park and Campground sits just off I-40 at Hazen, about fifteen minutes south of Des Arc, next to the Wattensaw Wildlife Management Area. Whitney Lane RV Park and Dub'l R RV Park offer additional hookup sites in the general area. For travelers willing to drive further, Searcy RV Living and Red River RV Park expand the radius toward Searcy and the surrounding counties, which puts more restaurants, groceries, and services within reach while still leaving the White River and Cache River bottoms as day-trip destinations.

The privately owned RV parks in and around Des Arc, including H and G RV Park and Campground, Whitney Lane RV Park, Searcy RV Living, Red River RV Park, and Dub'l R RV Park, are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their own websites. Nightly, weekly, and monthly stays are common, and many sites host long-term workers, so calling ahead is advisable. Arkansas State Parks campgrounds are reserved through ArkansasStateParks.com or by phone, with a rolling window that opens up to twelve months before arrival. Weekend stays require a two-night minimum, and holiday weekends require three nights. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sites, including Lake Des Arc, are handled through AGFC channels. Duck-season weekends from November through late January book earliest and hardest across the region.
