Overview of camping near Gentry, Arkansas
Gentry sits in Benton County in northwest Arkansas, on the western edge of the Ozark Plateau near the Oklahoma line. The surrounding countryside features rolling hills, spring-fed creeks, and mixed hardwood forest. RV travelers use Gentry as a quiet base for the wider Siloam Springs and Bentonville corridor along U.S. Highway 412.
Campground options in the immediate area lean toward small, privately owned RV parks with full hookups rather than large public campgrounds. Rocky Springs RV Ranch is a family-run park just outside Siloam Springs, and it offers 30 full hookup sites plus 5 water and electric sites, with a spring-fed pond for fishing and two creek areas for playing in the water. The Creeks Golf and RV Resort sits a short drive east near Cave Springs, and the property spans roughly 200 acres in the Osage Valley with full hookups including 30-amp and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, plus tent camping facilities.
For a public-land option, Natural Falls State Park lies just across the Oklahoma border in the Ozark Highlands and features a 77-foot waterfall in a narrow V-shaped valley, within easy reach of Gentry.
Things to do near Gentry
Water activities anchor most trips. The Illinois River runs south of town and is a regional favorite for floats, with outfitters like Ark 59 Canoeing Rafting and Fidler's Bend Outdoors renting canoes, kayaks, and rafts during the warmer months. Shaded put-ins and gravel bars make for short paddles for families and longer runs for experienced boaters.
Hiking centers on Natural Falls State Park across the state line. The park offers about four and a half miles of hiking and nature trails, a picnic shelter, and other day-use facilities, and observation decks give upper and lower views of the falls. Golfers can play the course at The Creeks Golf and RV Resort without leaving the campground.
Gentry itself is home to the Wild Wilderness Drive-Through Safari, a longtime family attraction. Bentonville, with the Scott Family Amazeum and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, sits within a 45-minute drive.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV trips near Gentry. Daytime temperatures are moderate, humidity is manageable, and the Illinois River runs at reliable levels for paddling. Spring is also the wettest stretch of the year in this part of Arkansas, so travelers should watch flash-flood forecasts on low-water crossings and creek-side sites.
Summer is peak season for float trips and lake days, but heat and humidity are real factors. Afternoon highs commonly reach the upper 80s and low 90s, while winter lows drop below freezing on many nights. Sites with shade and 50-amp service for air conditioning book earliest, and weekends around Independence Day and Labor Day fill fastest at the private RV parks.
Fall brings hardwood color across the Ozarks and cooler nights that favor campfires. Winter camping is possible at year-round private parks around Gentry, though state park facilities on the Oklahoma side may run reduced services and some outfitters close for the season. Freeze events are short but real, so RVers should protect water hoses.

Scott was great to work with and adjusted our last minute add on date. Very communicative and would recommend booking with him again. RV was great, well maintained, clean and perfect for our family too getaway for vacation. Would definitely book him again in the future!

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend with our family and had the BEST experience! We rented an RV for 3 adults and 3 kids, and it was the perfect size with plenty of room for everyone. Everything was super clean and fully stocked — pillows, bedding, and honestly anything you could possibly need was included. But our absolute favorite part was the outdoor kitchen. I genuinely don’t think we can ever rent an RV again without one now! The griddle was AMAZING and made cooking so easy and fun. We’ve officially become bougie RV campers now. 😂 Could not have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip in the RV owned by Jesus! He was a great host/owner and was super easy to work with. If we can make it to AR again, we'll definitely connect/reach out to him!

How to book campgrounds near Gentry
Private parks around Gentry take reservations directly. Rocky Springs RV Ranch books by phone and through its own website, and The Creeks Golf and RV Resort takes reservations through its site and third-party platforms. Both parks are small, so weekend and holiday dates should be locked in several weeks ahead in peak season.
For Natural Falls State Park across the Oklahoma line, online reservations are required for RV and tent sites, and are handled through the Oklahoma State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Five yurts can also be reserved online, and each sleeps between four and six people with a microwave, mini fridge, air conditioning and heat, and basic furnishings.
Outfitter float trips with Ark 59 Canoeing Rafting and Fidler's Bend Outdoors are typically booked by phone or online for a set launch window, with shuttle service included.
What to expect on the ground
Roads in and around Gentry are straightforward for RVs. U.S. 412 is the main east-west route and handles big rigs without issue, though some county roads leading to private parks are narrow and can be dark at night. Drivers arriving after sunset should confirm gate access in advance.
At the private parks, expect gravel or paved pads, full hookups, and modest amenity buildings rather than resort-scale pools and clubhouses. Rocky Springs RV Ranch describes itself as a quiet country setting with a laundry and bathhouse, a fishing pond, and easy highway access. At Natural Falls State Park, swimming is not permitted, and the waterfall area is viewing-only.
Cell coverage is generally good along the 412 corridor. Grocery, fuel, and RV supplies are easy to source in Siloam Springs and Bentonville.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Gentry, AR
How much does an RV rental in Gentry cost, and how can I save money?
RV rental in Gentry is one of the most affordable ways to explore Northwest Arkansas, with nightly rates typically ranging from about $80 to $150 for travel trailers, $125 to $200 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $350 for larger Class A coaches. Because Gentry is a smaller community in Benton County, you often find better value here than near Bentonville or Fayetteville. For a cheap RV rental Gentry travelers love, book a travel trailer with delivery so you skip towing fees and fuel costs. Midweek stays (Sunday through Thursday) and shoulder seasons like late March or October usually shave 15 to 25 percent off summer pricing. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book to spot hosts offering last-minute discounts.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gentry%2C%20ArkansasWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Gentry, Arkansas?
Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Gentry. Arkansas does not require a special RV license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for any motorhome or travel trailer available on RVezy, including Class A coaches and fifth wheels. Approved drivers must generally be at least 25 years old and complete a quick ID verification through the RVezy platform when you book, which usually takes just a few minutes. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home-country license with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before your trip. Most first-time renters are surprised how straightforward the process is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection and roadside help are included with my Gentry RV rental?
Every RV rental in Gentry booked through RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Ozark backroads with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most accidental damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout (the guest selects this, not the host). If you get a flat on Highway 59 heading toward Siloam Springs or need a jump start near Eagle Watch Nature Trail, one phone call gets help dispatched. The protection plan provides meaningful financial protection that lets you focus on the trip rather than the what-ifs.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Gentry RV trip?
Booking is low-risk because RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book. That means if your plans shift soon after confirming your motorhome rental Gentry trip, you have a window to cancel with a full refund. Cancellation outcomes after the grace period depend on how far out from the trip start date you cancel. If a host needs to cancel, RVezy refunds guests or provides credits so you are never left stranded. The full policy details live on the RVezy Help Center, and customer support is available before, during, and after every trip to walk you through your options.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Gentry?
Absolutely, and you will love how dog-welcoming this corner of Arkansas is. To find a pet-friendly RV rental Gentry hosts offer, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and message the host with your pup's size and breed before booking. Once you are rolling, head to Wild Wilderness Drive-Through Safari just outside Gentry (leashed dogs are welcome in your vehicle), or explore the dog-friendly trails at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area about 45 minutes east. Most Arkansas State Park campgrounds, including Devil's Den, allow leashed pets on a six-foot leash. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, since Ozark summer heat can climb into the 90s by midafternoon.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/hobbs-state-park-conservation-areaCan the RV be delivered to me in Gentry?
Yes, RV delivery Gentry is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the rig directly to your driveway, a nearby campground, or even out to Beaver Lake recreation areas. They will level the RV, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system from the awning to the propane stove before handing over the keys. Just filter by Delivery on RVezy and message the host with your address or campsite number. This is a game-changer for travel trailers, since you skip the towing learning curve entirely and start your Gentry RV trip relaxed.

Spring brings highs in the 68 to 86 degree range with blooming dogwoods, and fall delivers stunning Ozark foliage with comfortable 68 to 82 degree days and crisp nights. Summer (June through August) is hot and humid with highs around 87 to 92 degrees and a heat index that can climb above 100, but it is perfect for Beaver Lake swimming if your rig has solid air conditioning. Winters dip to lows around 29 degrees in January with occasional snow, though many local campgrounds stay open year-round. Pro tip: book early for October weekends when leaf-peepers fill every site in the region.
weather.gov/tsa/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be set up for success in Gentry?
First time renting an RV? You are going to be fine, and Gentry is a great place to start. Every RVezy host provides a full orientation walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the slide-outs, water pump, propane, generator, and dump valves so you are not guessing later. You can message your host anytime during your trip with questions, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your protection plan if something mechanical pops up. The roads around Gentry are flat to gently rolling with wide shoulders, making Highway 59 and Highway 12 easy first-time driving routes. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first trip, since they handle more like a large van than a bus.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV on my trip?
Take a breath, you are covered. Every RV rental in Gentry booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is just a phone call away whether you are at Hobbs State Park, on Highway 412, or camped near Beaver Lake. The roadside team handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. For non-emergency issues like a tricky water heater, message your host directly through the RVezy app, since they know their RV best and can usually troubleshoot in minutes. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after every trip to help resolve anything that doesn't fit neatly into those buckets.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Gentry rental across state lines?
Cross-border road trips are one of the best perks of renting an RV in Gentry. The Oklahoma border sits just a few miles west, Missouri is roughly 25 miles north, and most hosts welcome travel throughout the contiguous United States as long as you mention your planned route when booking. Popular interstate routes include Gentry to Branson, Missouri (about 1.5 hours), Gentry to Tulsa, Oklahoma (about 1.75 hours), and longer hauls down to Hot Springs or up to St. Louis. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and protection coverage do not extend across that border. Pro tip: send your host a quick itinerary message before booking so you are both on the same page about mileage and route.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Gentry RV trip?
Arkansas typically has some of the most affordable gas in the country, which makes fuel budgeting friendly for your RV camping Gentry adventure. Expect roughly 7 to 10 miles per gallon for Class A motorhomes, 8 to 12 mpg for Class C, 15 to 20 mpg for campervans (Class B), and 10 to 14 mpg when towing a travel trailer with a truck. With Arkansas regular gas usually running below the national average, a 300-mile round trip to Eureka Springs and back in a Class C usually runs $80 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Gentry or Siloam Springs before heading deeper into the Ozarks, where rural stations sometimes charge more per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Gentry?
For peak-season weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day plus October foliage weekends), book Arkansas State Park sites 4 to 6 months ahead through reserve.arkansasstateparks.com, since popular spots like Devil's Den and Hobbs fill quickly. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds around Beaver Lake (Prairie Creek, Rocky Branch, Horseshoe Bend) book through recreation.gov, also 4 to 6 months out for summer weekends. Private parks in and near Gentry typically have more last-minute availability and can be booked directly by phone or online. Midweek stays are far easier to snag. Pro tip: set an alert for sold-out state park sites, since cancellations happen constantly and you can often grab a coveted lakefront spot just days before your trip.
recreation.gov/What are driving conditions like in and around Gentry?
Driving an RV around Gentry is refreshingly low-stress. The town sits on flat, rural terrain with wide two-lane highways like US-59 and AR-12, light traffic, and easy parking. Interstate 49 runs about 15 miles east and connects you smoothly to Bentonville, Fayetteville, and points beyond. Heading deeper into the Ozarks toward Eureka Springs or Jasper, you will encounter winding mountain roads with steeper grades, so downshift on descents and take curves slowly in larger rigs. Spring (March through May) brings the region's thunderstorm and occasional tornado season, so check the National Weather Service forecast each morning. Pro tip: avoid driving Scenic Highway 23 (the Pig Trail) in a big Class A and stick to US-71 or I-49 instead.
weather.gov/tsa/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Gentry?
Campgrounds around Gentry are well-equipped for a comfortable RV camping Gentry experience. Most full-hookup sites offer 30 or 50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer connections, while state parks like Hobbs and Devil's Den typically provide water and electric with a central dump station on-site. Expect hot showers, flush restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings at virtually every developed campground. Many private parks in the area add a swimming pool, free Wi-Fi, laundry, and a small store. Potable water fill-up stations are available at every Arkansas State Park and most Corps of Engineers parks. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank before leaving the campground, since dispersed Ozark spots and Forest Service sites often have no water at all.
arkansasstateparks.com/What's actually inside a typical RV rental in Gentry?
Your Gentry RV rental comes ready to roll with everything you need for the trip. Most motorhomes and travel trailers sleep 4 to 8 people across queen beds, bunks, and convertible dinettes, and include a full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, propane stove, microwave, and sink. Bathrooms feature a toilet, shower, and vanity (full bathroom in Class A and C; wet bath in many campervans). Air conditioning, furnace, dining table, and outdoor awning are standard. Many listings add a generator, solar panels, outdoor TV, Wi-Fi hotspot, and seatbelts for everyone riding while in motion. Check the listing's amenities list and message the host if you want specifics like an outdoor kitchen or king bed. Pro tip: ask about included kitchen kits and linens to skip the packing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gentry%2C%20ArkansasWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Gentry offer plenty of useful add-ons that make life easier. Common extras include camp chairs and outdoor tables ($5 to $15 per day), bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75 per trip), kitchen kits ($25 to $50), generators ($15 to $30 per day if not included), bike racks, and propane fills. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Gentry, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Delivery and setup to your campsite typically runs $2 to $4 per mile each way and is the simplest option for first-timers. Mileage policies vary, but expect 100 to 150 free miles per night. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and bedding together for a true turn-key Gentry RV trip experience.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gentry%2C%20ArkansasHow do payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure: when you book an RV rental Arkansas travelers love through RVezy, you pay directly through the platform with a credit or debit card, no cash or off-platform transfers needed. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value) and released back to your card after the host confirms the rig was returned in good shape, usually within a few days of trip end. The deposit covers things like excess cleaning, missing items, or minor damage not covered by the protection plan. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a quick video of the RV's interior and exterior at both pickup and drop-off so any deposit questions are easy to resolve.
