Campgrounds near Lincoln, Arkansas
Lincoln sits in northwest Arkansas on the western edge of the Boston Mountains and the Ozarks, roughly a 25-minute drive from Fayetteville and less than an hour from Devil's Den State Park. The town is a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Illinois River corridor, the Ozark National Forest, and the trail networks of the greater Fayetteville-Bentonville region.
Options close to Lincoln range from small private RV parks to state park camping. Crystal Creeks RV Park and Rocky Springs RV Ranch offer hookup sites within short driving distance, while Hog Valley RV and Treehouse Resort adds a more wooded, cabin-style setting. Ark 59 Canoeing Rafting anchors river-based trips on the Illinois, and Devil's Den State Park provides the region's largest and best-known public campground.
Most travelers use Lincoln as a jumping-off point rather than a single destination, pairing a night or two on the river with time in the state park or the Fayetteville area.
Things to do near Lincoln
Paddling is a defining activity in this stretch of the Ozarks. The Illinois River runs just south of town, and outfitters such as Ark 59 Canoeing Rafting handle canoe, kayak, and raft trips during the warm months. Fishing for smallmouth bass and panfish is common on the river and on small area lakes.
Devil's Den State Park draws hikers, backpackers, and mountain bikers. Trails there lead into the surrounding Ozark National Forest, and the park is known for rock formations, caves, and CCC-era stonework built in the 1930s. The park also offers a seasonal swimming pool, canoe and pedal boat rentals on Lake Devil, and interpretive programs led by park staff.
Fayetteville and Bentonville add paved bike trails, breweries, and Crystal Bridges Museum within a short drive.

Spring and fall are the strongest seasons for RV travel around Lincoln. From late March through May, temperatures are mild, wildflowers bloom, and the Illinois River typically holds enough water for paddling. Spring is also the wettest stretch of the year, with May the peak rainfall month, so travelers should watch for thunderstorms and possible flash flooding on Ozark creeks.
Summer is hot and humid, with highs commonly in the upper 80s and low 90s. This is peak season for float trips and swimming, and weekends at Devil's Den State Park fill early. Reservations at Arkansas State Parks can be made up to twelve months in advance, and weekend stays require a two-night minimum, with a three-night minimum on major holiday weekends.
Fall brings cooler nights, drier weather, and Ozark foliage that typically peaks from late October into early November. Winter is the quietest season: the park stays open year-round for camping, but overnight lows regularly drop below freezing and some facilities close seasonally.

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend with our family and had the BEST experience! We rented an RV for 3 adults and 3 kids, and it was the perfect size with plenty of room for everyone. Everything was super clean and fully stocked — pillows, bedding, and honestly anything you could possibly need was included. But our absolute favorite part was the outdoor kitchen. I genuinely don’t think we can ever rent an RV again without one now! The griddle was AMAZING and made cooking so easy and fun. We’ve officially become bougie RV campers now. 😂 Could not have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend!

Roads into the Boston Mountains are winding and steep in places, particularly the descent into Devil's Den on Highway 74. Larger rigs and travel trailers can reach the park, but drivers should plan the route carefully and avoid shortcut roads through the hills.
Cell coverage is patchy in the valleys and inside the state park. Devil's Den has 135 campsites across several loops, including sites with hookups and a horse camp with hookups and a bathhouse, along with tent-only and no-hookup options. The park store and boat rentals operate seasonally, roughly March through mid-November. Black bears and deer live in the surrounding forest, so food should be stored securely.
Dogs are welcome on a leash, and summer weekends fill early at both public and private campgrounds.
