From Bonita Ranch Campground, the short hike to Bonita Falls behind the park and fishing along Lytle Creek are the headline activities, with additional San Bernardino National Forest trails branching from the same canyon. Closer to town, families use Jurupa Valley as a launch point for Disneyland, the Pomona Fairplex, Glen Helen Amphitheater, and the speedway in Fontana. Expect a sharp contrast between commercial and primitive options. Full-hookup parks near the city offer paved or graded pads, 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, laundry, and showers, but sites can sit close together and views are suburban. Bonita Ranch Campground provides a more natural setting with water and electricity at every site, two dump stations, and hot showers and restrooms open 24 hours, though the access road climbs into the foothills and cell coverage can drop. Chino Hills State Park is the most rustic of the listed options: flush toilets and potable water are available, but there are no hookups, and campfires and charcoal BBQs are prohibited. Cell phone service is unreliable throughout the park. Summer heat, sun exposure, and wildfire risk shape what to pack: shade, water, and a reliable cooling setup are practical priorities.
