Campgrounds and RV parks near Crystal Springs, FL

Crystal Springs sits in eastern Pasco County, roughly 30 miles northeast of Tampa, in the rural corridor between Zephyrhills and the Green Swamp. The area is anchored by Crystal Springs Preserve, a 530-acre sanctuary built around a Magnitude 2 spring system that discharges 30 million gallons of water per day into the Hillsborough River. RV travelers use the town as a quiet base for exploring the Hillsborough River headwaters, nearby state and county preserves, and the greater Tampa Bay region. RV options within a short drive include Majestic Oaks RV Resort, Palm View Gardens RV Resort, Landing Resort, and Southern Charm RV Resort, most of which cluster around Zephyrhills and cater heavily to snowbirds during the winter months. For a more rustic experience, Upper Hillsborough Preserve ~ Alston Tract is a 2,983-acre recreation area east of Zephyrhills at 42144 Deems Road off State Road 39, offering roughly 16 miles of multiuse trails. Expect a mix of manicured full-hookup resorts and primitive preserve camping, with easy highway access via US 98, SR 39, and I-75.

Private resorts such as Majestic Oaks RV Resort, Palm View Gardens RV Resort, Landing Resort, and Southern Charm RV Resort are booked directly through each park's own website or phone line. For winter stays, contact parks well in advance, since snowbird sites are commonly reserved months ahead and are often held on returning-guest priority. Public preserve camping in the area is managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. At the Alston Tract, the equestrian and primitive campground is currently closed via the standard reservation system due to site conditions and carrying capacity concerns. Group camping for organized parties of six or more is still offered by Special Use Authorization, requested by email to [email protected] at least 30 days before the visit and issued first come, first served.
