Everything worked perfectly! Moises is a great host, he responded to all my questions and calls and even provided his personal camping app, which is a great find if you are into off grid cool safe camping spots to discover. It's not fancy on the outside, but the price is good and all the features are functional.

Excellent Campervan Experience We recently rented a campervan to travel to Savannah and Northern Georgia. We had a great time, thanks to the excellent orientation provided by Morgan. We truly had everything we needed, from a French Press to start our days out right to a comfy bed that accommodated two adults comfortably. It was an amazing experience, with all the comforts of home while still being able to connect with nature. Morgan was a phenomenal host and we can't recommend him highly enough!

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Greater Carrollwood, FL

What are the best campgrounds near Carrollwood for an RV rental trip?

Carrollwood sits just northwest of Tampa, putting you within easy reach of several top RV campgrounds. Hillsborough River State Park in Thonotosassa is about 25 miles northeast and offers shaded sites with electric and water hookups along a scenic river. Bay Bayou RV Resort in Tampa is a closer full-hookup option about 15 miles away with pool and waterfront access. Lithia Springs Park southeast of Tampa is great for families with its natural spring swimming area and RV sites. For a beach trip, Fort De Soto Park in Pinellas County has waterfront RV sites with full hookups. Lake Manatee State Park and Alafia River State Park are also within 45 minutes for quieter, nature-focused stays. Booking sites early is recommended during peak winter and spring months. An RV rental in Carrollwood makes reaching any of these parks simple, and many RVezy hosts offer delivery directly to the campground.

When is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Carrollwood?

The best time for an RV trip from Carrollwood is from late October through April, when central Florida enjoys warm, dry days with average highs in the 70s and low humidity, making it ideal for camping, beach trips, and exploring nearby state parks. Winter is peak season, so booking your RV rental and campground sites in advance is strongly recommended. Spring offers comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds before summer. Summer months from June through September bring high heat, humidity, and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and this period overlaps with the Atlantic hurricane season that runs June 1 through November 30, so check forecasts closely. Many RVs in Carrollwood are well-equipped with strong air conditioning if you choose to travel in summer.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Carrollwood, Florida?

No special license is required to rent most RVs in Carrollwood. A standard Florida or out-of-state driver's license is accepted for motorhomes and travel trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every RV available for rent on RVezy. On RVezy, renters generally need to be at least 25 years old and submit a valid driver's license for approval before the trip begins. International guests can also rent with a valid license from their home country. If you are new to driving an RV, your host will walk you through operating the vehicle at pickup, and choosing a smaller Class C motorhome or travel trailer is a great option for first-time renters exploring the Tampa area.
