Campgrounds and RV parks near Key Vista, FL

Key Vista is a small coastal community in Pasco County on Florida's west coast, adjacent to the town of Holiday and roughly 40 miles northwest of Tampa. Key Vista Nature Park covers 101 acres along the Gulf coast just south of Rocky Creek, and the park is named for the unobstructed view it offers of Anclote Key, which lies about four miles off the coast. RV travelers use the area as a base for beaches, birding, and offshore island trips. Private RV parks near Key Vista sit within a short drive of the coast. Hickory Point Mobile Home and RV Park and Holiday Travel Park are close-in options for full-hookup stays. Suncoast RV Park and Orchid Lake RV Resort sit slightly inland, and Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA Holiday is the closest KOA-branded property, useful for families who want pool and cabin options alongside RV sites. Public land camping in the immediate area is limited to primitive tent sites on the barrier islands, so RV travelers typically stay at private parks on the mainland and day-trip to state and county lands. Tarpon Springs experiences a humid subtropical climate, characterized by hot summers and mild winters, with a strong seasonal pattern where summers are significantly wetter than other times of the year.

Private parks in the Key Vista, Holiday, and Tarpon Springs area, including Hickory Point Mobile Home and RV Park, Holiday Travel Park, Suncoast RV Park, and Orchid Lake RV Resort, take reservations directly through each property. Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA Holiday is booked through the KOA reservation system. Winter arrivals should reserve months ahead, as many sites go to seasonal residents. For Florida state parks in the region, reservations run through the state system. Florida residents may make campsite or cabin reservations up to 11 months in advance, and non-Florida residents may make campsite or cabin reservations up to 10 months in advance. New sites become available for reservation daily at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Anclote Key Preserve is different. There is no fee for camping on Anclote Key, but campers must register by calling the park, and should have their boat registration number, number of campers, arrival and departure dates, and a contact phone number ready.
