Campgrounds and RV parks near Lower Grand Lagoon, FL

Lower Grand Lagoon sits at the eastern end of Panama City Beach, Florida, wedged between Grand Lagoon, St. Andrew Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. The neighborhood is the closest RV base to St. Andrews State Park, which occupies the peninsula where the Gulf of Mexico meets St. Andrew Bay and Grand Lagoon, and it puts renters within a short drive of the marinas, seafood restaurants, and beach access points along Thomas Drive. Options cluster into two types. Full-service private resorts include Panama City Beach RV Resort, Venture Out Panama City Beach, Campers Inn Inc., and Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach, all offering paved or concrete pads and full hookups. For a state-park experience with direct beach access, St. Andrews State Park Campground has 158 campsites and is located between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay, having been rebuilt after Hurricane Michael in 2018, with each campsite featuring water, 30- and 50-amp electric, and sewer connections. Most sites in the area accommodate larger rigs. The sites will accommodate camping units ranging from tents to RVs up to 50 feet in length, with both back-in and pull-through options, while Venture Out is oriented toward RVs up to 40 feet.

St. Andrews State Park is booked through the Florida State Parks system. Reservations can be made at the Florida State Parks website or by phone. Florida residents can make campsite reservations 11 months in advance, while non-residents can make reservations 10 months in advance. Sites are almost always in high demand, so many experienced Florida campers book on the first day that bookings open. Private resorts including Panama City Beach RV Resort, Venture Out Panama City Beach, Campers Inn Inc., and Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach take reservations directly through their websites or by phone. For state-park bookings that appear sold out, it pays to keep checking, as spots sometimes open up as others' plans change.
