Campgrounds and RV parks near Danielsville, GA

Danielsville sits in Madison County in northeast Georgia, roughly 15 miles north of Athens and within easy reach of the upper Piedmont's rolling hills, rivers, and covered-bridge country. The area serves as a practical base for RV renters heading to University of Georgia football weekends, Lake Hartwell day trips, or quiet river camping along the South Fork of the Broad River. Two Georgia state parks anchor the local options. Watson Mill Bridge State Park, southeast of Danielsville near Comer, is a 1,118-acre park on the South Fork of the Broad River, home to the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, which spans 229 feet. Victoria Bryant State Park, to the north near Royston, covers 502 acres of upper Piedmont hills with a creek, two small fishing ponds, and an adjoining golf course. Private options round out the mix. Georgia RV Park and the Commerce/Athens KOA both sit within a short drive and cater to travelers wanting full hookups, laundry, and easier highway access. The Rivers Edge Members Only Resort offers an additional private-club option for members passing through the region.

Reservations at Watson Mill Bridge State Park and Victoria Bryant State Park go through the Georgia State Parks system, online at GaStateParks.org or by phone through ReserveAmerica. Out-of-state visitors can book up to 13 months in advance, while Georgia residents get a 14-month window. A 50 percent deposit is required on stays booked 15 or more days out, with the balance due at check-in. A daily ParkPass parking fee applies per vehicle in addition to the site cost, and annual passes are available. Private parks handle their own bookings. Commerce/Athens KOA reserves through the KOA website and call center, Georgia RV Park takes direct reservations, and The Rivers Edge Members Only Resort requires membership status to book. For UGA football weekends and spring-break stretches, reserve as early as the booking window opens, and check back for cancellations if a first choice is full.
