Campgrounds and RV parks near Grantville, GA

Grantville sits in Coweta County in west Georgia, roughly an hour southwest of Atlanta and within a short drive of the Chattahoochee River corridor. The area offers a mix of state park camping, private RV resorts, and lake-based marinas, so most trips center on river paddling, lake fishing, or day trips to Newnan, Carrollton, and LaGrange. Chattahoochee Bend State Park anchors the local camping scene, protecting five miles of river frontage and covering close to 3,000 acres, which makes it one of Georgia's larger state parks. RV travelers heading to the area can also choose Banning Mills RV Park near Whitesburg, Highland Marina Resort on West Point Lake, Happy Trails Homestead, or 3 Creeks Campground for a more private-park experience. Most sites in the region are open year-round, with humid summers, mild shoulder seasons, and short cool winters. Reservations for state park sites go through the Georgia State Parks system, while the private parks book direct.

Chattahoochee Bend State Park uses the Georgia State Parks reservation system, with online bookings available up to 13 months in advance. Cancellations turn up daily, so checking back is worthwhile if a preferred loop is full. A daily ParkPass fee applies for park entry and is paid once per vehicle during an overnight stay. Private parks book direct. Banning Mills RV Park reservations go through Historic Banning Mills and, at times, have been limited to longer stays depending on availability, so calling ahead is important. Highland Marina Resort, Happy Trails Homestead, and 3 Creeks Campground each take reservations by phone or through their own websites. For summer weekends and holiday periods, booking several weeks out is recommended.
