Campgrounds and RV parks near Greenville, GA

Greenville sits in Meriwether County in west-central Georgia, roughly an hour southwest of Atlanta and within easy reach of the Pine Mountain range. The area is best known for F. D. Roosevelt State Park, Georgia's largest state park at over 9,000 acres, named after the 32nd President and situated near the southern tip of the Appalachian Mountains. That park anchors most RV trips to the region, though private options add flexibility for larger rigs and lake-focused stays. Closest to town, Happy Trails Homestead offers a small-scale rural stay. A short drive west, Pine Mountain RV Resort sits near the Callaway Gardens corridor, and FD Roosevelt State Park delivers wooded, lake-adjacent sites. For lake camping, Highland Marina Resort is set on West Point Lake, a roughly 26,000-acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River known for fishing and water sports. 3 Creeks Campground rounds out the nearby private options. Most RV travelers use Greenville as a base for hiking Pine Mountain, visiting the Little White House historic site in Warm Springs, and exploring Callaway Gardens.

For FD Roosevelt State Park, reservations are made online through the Georgia State Parks reservation system, which uses site-specific booking that lets campers pick a specific site in advance. Lakefront and full-hookup loops fill first, so book as far ahead as possible for spring and fall weekends. Overnight guests pay the daily ParkPass fee only once per vehicle for the length of their stay, and parking is not included with the campsite reservation. Backcountry sites along the Pine Mountain Trail are also reserved through the state park system. Private campgrounds, including Happy Trails Homestead, Pine Mountain RV Resort, Highland Marina Resort, and 3 Creeks Campground, are booked directly through each operator by phone or their websites. Holiday weekends and fishing-tournament weekends at West Point Lake fill fastest.
