Campgrounds and RV parks near Louisville, GA

Louisville sits in Jefferson County in east-central Georgia, on the Ogeechee River between Macon and Augusta. It is the county seat and a former state capital of Georgia, located southwest of Augusta. The surrounding countryside is flat to gently rolling pine and hardwood, dotted with small lakes, spring-fed creeks, and working farmland. RV travelers use Louisville as a quiet base between the coast and the interstates, with I-20 to the north and I-16 to the south. Campground options within a short drive range from small privately owned RV parks to Georgia state parks with lake frontage. Nearby private grounds include Warthen RV Park, Bailey Creek Campground, and Sanwar RV Resort, clustered in the Sandersville and Warthen area of Washington County. For state-park camping with more amenities and trails, Hamburg State Park is located off Georgia Highway 102, six miles northeast of Warthen, and 20 miles north of Sandersville, and Magnolia Springs State Park sits further east near Millen. Most sites accommodate mid-size travel trailers and Class C motorhomes without difficulty.

Georgia state parks, including Hamburg and Magnolia Springs, use the state's central reservation system through ReserveAmerica or the Georgia State Parks site. For reservation inquiries please call 1-800-864-7275. For Park inquiries please contact the park at 478-982-1660. A ParkPass is required for all vehicles. Price for ParkPasses are not included with the reservation. Overnight guests pay only one ParkPass fee for the duration of their stay. Private parks such as Warthen RV Park, Bailey Creek Campground, and Sanwar RV Resort take bookings by phone or through their own websites. Book ahead for weekend stays, as the campground fills quickly during peak seasons, and state-park lakeside sites typically go first for spring and fall weekends. Weeknights and winter stays are usually available closer to arrival.
