Campgrounds and RV parks near Luthersville, GA

Luthersville sits in Meriwether County in west-central Georgia, roughly an hour southwest of Atlanta and within easy reach of the Chattahoochee River corridor and the Pine Mountain range. The area suits RV renters who want quiet rural roads, state-park camping, and a mix of private resorts within a short drive. Most trips base out of one of two systems: Georgia State Parks or private RV parks along the U.S. 27 and I-85 corridors. Close-in options include Happy Trails Homestead for a small, rural stay and Banning Mills RV Park near the adventure resort of the same name. For larger state-park camping with hookups, Chattahoochee Bend State Park spans roughly 2,910 acres along the Chattahoochee River and accommodates RVs up to 55 feet, plus walk-in tent and platform sites. Farther south, Pine Mountain RV Resort and FD Roosevelt State Park sit near Callaway Gardens and the Little White House. FD Roosevelt is Georgia's largest state park, with several structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, including the Liberty Bell stone swimming pool and the picnic spot at Dowdell's Knob.

State-park sites at Chattahoochee Bend and FD Roosevelt are reserved through the Georgia State Parks system at GaStateParks.org, powered by ReserveAmerica. Out-of-state visitors can book up to 13 months in advance, and Georgia residents up to 14 months. A 50 percent deposit confirms most reservations 15 or more days out, with the balance due at check-in. A daily ParkPass is required in addition to the site fee, paid once per vehicle for the length of the stay. Private parks operate on their own systems. Pine Mountain RV Resort books directly through its website or by phone, with policies varying by site type and season. Smaller options like Happy Trails Homestead and Banning Mills RV Park typically require phoning or booking direct through the operator.
