Campgrounds and RV parks near Nicholls, GA

Nicholls sits in Coffee County in south Georgia's Wiregrass region, about halfway between Douglas and Waycross. The area's anchor campground is General Coffee State Park, a 1,511-acre state park located near Douglas that preserves examples of south Georgia's natural and cultural heritage. The park's campground has two loops with 50 tent, trailer, and RV sites offering water and electric hookups, and it serves as the primary public option for RV travelers in the immediate area. Beyond the state park, private RV parks fill in options for longer stays and full hookups. Dreamland Parks/Dreamland RV Park, Pebble Hill RV Resort, Pecans & Pines RV Park, and JB's RV Park are the closest private choices, offering a mix of pull-through sites, monthly stays, and quieter rural settings. The landscape here is flat pine flatwoods and cypress swamp rather than mountain or coast. The Seventeen-Mile River winds through the property, and a boardwalk provides access to a cypress swamp where rare and endangered plants grow, giving the area a distinct low-country feel that differs from north Georgia's terrain.

General Coffee State Park uses the Georgia State Parks reservation system. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance, and Georgia residents may book up to 14 months in advance.
