Camping near Pembroke, Georgia
Pembroke sits in Bryan County in Georgia's Coastal Plain, about 30 miles west of Savannah along GA Highway 67. The town is a rural gateway to the Ogeechee and Canoochee rivers, coastal marshes, and the historic downtown squares of Savannah, and it lies within reach of Fort Stewart via GA Highway 144 and I-16.
Because Pembroke itself is small, most RV travellers base out of parks in the surrounding Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham county area. Options range from full-hookup destination resorts to smaller family-run parks. Named sites in the area include Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks, Parkwood RV Park and Cottages, Happy Acres, Happy Campers RV Park, and CreekFire Resort.
CreekFire Resort sits about 20 minutes from downtown Savannah on a 105-acre property with more than 200 full-hookup RV sites and cabins, plus a pool, lazy river, splash pad, hot tub, and an on-site lakefront restaurant. Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks lies along the Ogeechee River, minutes off I-95.
Things to do around Pembroke
The Savannah area is the main day-trip draw. CreekFire Resort runs a shuttle to Old Town Trolley Tours, connecting guests with hop-on, hop-off stops at Forsyth Park, Bonaventure Cemetery, and the historic cobblestone streets lined with Spanish moss and oaks. Tybee Island beaches sit about a half-hour east of downtown, and Hilton Head is a straightforward drive across the state line.
On the water, the Ogeechee and Canoochee rivers offer fishing, kayaking, and paddling close to Pembroke. Local ponds and rivers hold bass, redbreast, and crappie, and a current Georgia fishing license is required.
On-site options at CreekFire include a 1-mile nature trail around the lake, a heated pool, hot tub, basketball and volleyball courts, and tennis and pickleball courts.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel around Pembroke. From March to May, average highs climb from the low 60s in March to the mid 80s by late May, with rainfall relatively light, making the season well suited to outdoor activity. Mosquito pressure is lower than in high summer.
Summer, June through August, is hot and humid, with highs reaching the low 90s in July and August delivering the annual rainfall peak near 4.3 inches. Afternoon thunderstorms are routine. This period also falls within Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June through November and peaks in late August and September, so watch NHC forecasts if booking coastal-adjacent sites.
Winter is mild and sunny, with average highs near 60°F and lows in the low 40s from December through February. Freezing nights are limited (Savannah averages roughly two dozen per year) and measurable snow is very rare. Many private RV parks in the area stay open year-round.
How to book campgrounds near Pembroke
For private parks like Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks, Parkwood RV Park and Cottages, Happy Acres, Happy Campers RV Park, and CreekFire Resort, book directly through each park's website or by phone. Peak weekends around Savannah's St. Patrick's Day celebration, spring break, and major holidays fill early, so reserve as far ahead as possible.
For state-park options in the wider region, Georgia State Parks accept reservations up to 13 months in advance, and Georgia residents may book up to 14 months in advance. A 50 percent deposit confirms a reservation booked 15 or more days out, with the balance due at check-in; bookings made 14 days or less in advance require payment in full.
Camping at any single Georgia state park is limited to 14 consecutive days, after which visitors must vacate the park for at least three nights before returning.
What to expect on-site
Most RV parks in the Pembroke and greater Savannah area offer full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, level sites, and a mix of back-in and pull-through spots. Larger resorts add pools, laundry, dog parks, and Wi-Fi. CreekFire, for example, has a mix of paved pull-throughs on concrete pads and gravel back-in sites, with room for larger rigs.
Expect Spanish moss, tall pines, and live oaks at most campgrounds, along with warm-season insects. Bring bug spray from late spring through early fall, and plan for humid nights in summer. Alligators are present in some ponds and lakes across the coastal plain, so keep pets leashed near water.
Pet policies vary. CreekFire allows pets with leashes required at all times, and pets are not permitted in pool areas, bathrooms, or the restaurant. Check each park's rules before arrival.

Booking is low-risk: RVezy applies a consistent cancellation policy to every rental, including a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in dates with confidence. Your refund amount depends on how far in advance you cancel before the trip start date. Hosts do not set their own cancellation rules, so terms are the same across listings. If plans shift, log into your RVezy account and start the cancellation through your trip dashboard, or message the support team for help. This consistency is especially reassuring for coastal Georgia trips during the Atlantic hurricane season from June through November.

Your pup is going to love this trip as much as you do.

Yes, RV delivery in Pembroke is offered by many local hosts and it is the easiest way to start your trip, especially if you are a first-time renter. The host drives the RV to your chosen campground or driveway, sets up the slide-outs, levels the rig, connects water and power, and walks you through every system. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer this service and their delivery radius. Most will deliver throughout Bryan County and into Savannah, Richmond Hill, and Hinesville. Pro tip: book delivery for your first night so you can relax instead of wrestling with hookups after a travel day.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pembroke%2C%20GeorgiaWhat is the mileage policy and how far can I drive from Pembroke?

gastateparks.org/FortMcAllisterWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Pembroke?
Spring (March through May) and fall (mid-September through November) are the sweet spots for a Pembroke RV trip. Summer (June through August) brings 90 degree heat with high humidity and afternoon thunderstorms, but a campervan rental in Pembroke with strong AC makes beach trips to Tybee very doable. Winter is mild (highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s), great for snowbirds escaping the north. Pro tip: aim for late October for warm-but-not-hot weather, fewer crowds at Fort McAllister, and lower nightly rental rates.

Popular routes for an RV road trip from Pembroke include north up I-95 to Charleston (about 135 miles) and Myrtle Beach (about 200 miles), south to Jacksonville, FL (about 140 miles) and St. Augustine (about 175 miles), or inland to Atlanta (about 240 miles) and the Blue Ridge mountains. Plan smart and you will be pleasantly surprised. For a 4-night loop covering 400 miles in a Class C, budget roughly $110 to $160 in fuel at recent pump prices. For shoulder-season trips in late October or February, 3 to 6 weeks is usually plenty.
