Campgrounds and RV parks near Warrenton, GA

Warrenton sits in east-central Georgia between Augusta and Macon, with I-20 running just north of town. The area works well as an RV base for Clarks Hill Lake, the Little Ogeechee River country, and the rolling pine-and-hardwood terrain of Warren, McDuffie, and Washington counties. Most nearby campgrounds are state-park operations run by Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, supplemented by a few small private parks. Mistletoe State Park covers roughly 1,920 acres on the shore of Clarks Hill Lake, a 71,100-acre reservoir east of Warrenton, and is the largest camping destination in the region. A.H. Stephens State Historic Park sits about 3 miles from I-20 in Crawfordville, offering both a standard RV loop and a dedicated equestrian area. Hamburg State Park lies off Georgia Highway 102 south of Warrenton, on 225-acre Hamburg Lake fed by the Little Ogeechee River. Smaller private options such as Ted & Tracy's RV Campground and Warthen RV Park round out the choices for travelers who want simple hookups closer to town.

State-park sites are booked through the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites reservation system, which uses ReserveAmerica. Campsite reservations are recommended, especially during peak seasons and holidays, and can be made through the Georgia State Parks website or by phone. Reservation windows typically open thirteen months in advance for cottages and campsites. An overnight park pass is required for all vehicles at Mistletoe State Park, an additional cost not included in the reservation, and overnight guests pay only one parking fee for the duration of their stay. The same daily ParkPass structure applies across the Georgia state-park system, and annual passes are available. Private parks such as Ted & Tracy's RV Campground and Warthen RV Park take bookings directly by phone or through their own websites. Weekend and holiday availability tightens quickly in spring and fall.
