Campgrounds and RV parks near Willacoochee, GA

Willacoochee sits in Atkinson County along the Alapaha River in south Georgia's wiregrass region, at the intersection of US-82 and GA-135. The town is small and functions mainly as a base for exploring nearby state parks, rivers, and farm country rather than as a destination in itself. Most RV travelers pass through on the US-82 corridor between Waycross and Tifton, or use it as a quieter alternative to I-75 stops. The closest full-service option is Dreamland Parks/Dreamland RV Park, with additional sites at Equestrian - General Coffee State Park just west near Nicholls. Further out toward I-75, The Trolley Stop RV Park in Enigma, Cecil Bay RV Park in Cecil, and Cain's Creekside RV Park in Hahira all offer full-hookup pull-throughs that suit big rigs and overnight travelers heading to or from Florida. Expect flat terrain, pine flatwoods, cypress swamp along Seventeen-Mile River, and warm, humid conditions most of the year. Cell coverage is generally reliable along the highways but thins out on back roads.

General Coffee State Park handles camping and cottage reservations through the Georgia State Parks system at GaStateParks.org/Reservations, or by phone at 1-800-864-7275. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance, and Georgia residents may book up to 14 months ahead. A ParkPass is required for all vehicles and is not included in the site fee, though overnight guests pay only one parking fee for the duration of their stay. A 50 percent deposit is required to confirm bookings made 15 or more days out, with the balance due at check-in. Private parks in the area, including Dreamland Parks/Dreamland RV Park, The Trolley Stop RV Park, Cecil Bay RV Park, and Cain's Creekside RV Park, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Weekly and monthly rates are common at the private parks.
