Campgrounds and RV parks near Genesee, ID

Genesee is a small farm town on the Palouse plateau in northern Idaho, about fifteen miles south of Moscow and roughly the same distance from Lewiston along US-95. The town itself sits at around 2,680 feet in rolling wheat country, while most of the RV inventory nearby is down in the Lewis-Clark Valley where the Snake and Clearwater Rivers meet. That two-elevation split matters for trip planning: the Palouse stays cooler and greener into summer, while the river valley is the lowest elevation in Idaho, at just 733 feet above sea level, and the long season of warm weather gives rise to Lewiston's reputation as Idaho's Banana Belt. In town, City of Genesee RV Park is a small municipal facility with RV sites, a dump station, and picnic tables. Down in the valley, options include Clearwater River Casino and RV Park on the Nez Perce Reservation east of Lewiston, Granite Lake RV Resort along the Snake River in Clarkston, Washington, and Hells Canyon RV Resort and Marina near the Clarkston waterfront. Gone West RV rounds out the nearby private options. Most travelers use Genesee as a quiet base for exploring the Palouse, the University of Idaho area in Moscow, and Hells Canyon to the south.

Private parks in the Lewis-Clark Valley book directly through their own websites or by phone, and most stay open year-round. Granite Lake RV Resort, Hells Canyon RV Resort and Marina, and Clearwater River Casino and RV Park all take reservations in advance, with the casino park often walking in overnight travelers when space allows. City of Genesee RV Park is a small in-town facility with a short site count, so calling ahead during summer is smart. For public sites, Idaho state parks such as Hells Gate reserve through the state's getoutside.idaho.gov portal, with bookings accepted up to 9 months in advance. Idaho Power campgrounds along the Snake River in the Hells Canyon area use CampLife Reservations, with bookings accepted year-round and up to nine months in advance.
