Campgrounds and RV parks near Iuka, IL

Iuka sits in eastern Marion County in south-central Illinois, along U.S. Route 50 between Salem and Flora. The village is small, but it sits within easy reach of two Illinois Department of Natural Resources sites that anchor RV camping in the region: Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area just north of town, and Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area on Rend Lake to the south. Oak Ridge Campground at Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area is the closest developed option, set around a 585-acre lake with electric sites suited to trailers and motorhomes. UcamP Express RV Park and Archway RV Park serve travelers who want full hookups and quick highway access without a state-park layout. For bigger-water trips, Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area borders the 19,000-acre Rend Lake Reservoir about an hour south, and Okaw Valley Campground extends the range northwest toward Carlyle Lake country. Together these properties cover the main styles of RV camping in the area: lakeside state parks with electric hookups, and private parks with full utilities.

Illinois state park sites, including Oak Ridge Campground at Stephen A. Forbes and the Bay Area, Hickman's Point, and Lakeview loops at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area, are booked through the state's ExploreMoreIL reservation system. Reservations open on a rolling window ahead of the arrival date, and lakefront and pull-through sites go first for holiday weekends. Wayne Fitzgerrell also keeps its Lookout Point and Shady Rest loops as first-come, first-served, which is useful for mid-week arrivals when the reservable loops are full. Private parks such as UcamP Express RV Park, Archway RV Park, and Okaw Valley Campground take bookings directly by phone or through their own websites. For summer weekends and any dates tied to fishing tournaments or hunting seasons, reserving several weeks out is recommended.
